    This ultra-telephoto zoom lens covers a telephoto range up to 500mm and allows photographers to bring the subject close with short perspective. Three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements provide excellent correction for chromatic aberration. This lens is equipped with a rear focus system that minimizes fluctuation of aberration caused by focusing. HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ensures a quiet and high-speed AF as well as full-time manual focusing capability.

    Part of the reason I bought this one was because of the upcoming Lunar Eclipse. Well, here as luck would have it, i t was very cloudy that night. However there will be other such events. Ans it can always be used for other long shooting. The only thing that is not real pleasing is the weight, but I knew it was going to be a "HAND FULL" before I bought it.
