    Product Information
    This ultra-telephoto zoom lens covers a telephoto range up to 500mm and allows photographers to bring the subject close and short perspective. Sigma's original OS (Optical Stabilizer) function offers the use of shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower. It is ideal for sports, wildlife and landscape photography with handheld shooting. Three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements provide excellent correction for chromatic aberration. This lens is equipped with a rear focus system that minimizes fluctuation of aberration caused by focusing. The super multi-layer lens coating reduces flare and ghosting. High image quality is assured throughout the entire zoom range. This lens incorporates HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), which ensures a quiet and high-speed AF as well as full-time manual focusing capability. The addition of the (optional) 1.4x EX DG APO or 2x EX DG APO Tele Converters produce a 210-700mm F7-9 MF ultra-telephoto zoom lens or a 300-1000mm F10-13 MF ultra-telephoto zoom lens respectively.

    The lens barely gets an excellent, but it deserves one. The AF is extremely quiet, so much so, the first time I used it I had to stop looking through the VF and look at the lens to make sure it was actually focusing! The HSM is very fast and accurate as well! Sigma payed a lot of attention to detail from the nice carrying case to the tripod mount with a handle built in to supplying a shoulder strap for the lens! It is definitely EX quality in glass and build, but the body of the lens is a polymer and not metal. It controls CA/PF extremely well to basically non-existent. Very sharp and contrasty throughout the range, but wide open @ 500mm it is a little soft. Resolving of finer details is simply stunning with this lens! Great for birding and wildlife!

    I wanted to have a super 500mm zoom lens for my Pentax for a very long time but the cost of the zoom lens was higher than my DSLR camera body. So I waited thinking the lens will come down in price. Finally I decided to buy one on EBAY.

    The lens is good quality but very heavy. You need to carry it separately. It doesn't fit in my special DSLR carrying case. It's also not auto focus. So overall I am happy with my purchase.

    Aunque no he tenido tiempo de probarlo a fondo, si puedo dar algunas impresiones que me ha dejado en los primeros días de uso.
    * Necesita buena luz para enfocar
    * Con escaso contraste NO ENFOCA
    * El enfoque se hace algo más lento al acercarse a los 500mm
    * Excelente nitidez, colores y bokeh
    * No presenta front focus ni back focus
    * Muy bueno el OS, permite trabajar a pulso sin problemas
    * Montado en trípode y con buena luz, el enfoque es muy rápido y preciso
    Como dije, necesito más tiempo para hacer más pruebas. De cualquier manera me ha dejado muy buena impresión.
