Album Notes
Personnel: Steve Plunkett (vocals, guitar); Steven Isham (vocals, keyboards); Randy Rand (vocals); Steve Lynch (guitar, electric guitar); Keni Richards (drums).Audio Mixers: Eddie DeLena; Neil Kernon.Recording information: Record Plant, LA.Photographer: Aaron Rapoport.Despite their long-haired, pretty-boy image and the occasional hot guitar solo, Autograph was one of the more mainstream hard rock bands associated with the L.A. metal scene. And though it spawned only one hit (the MTV favorite "Turn Up the Radio"), their 1984 debut, Sign in Please, is a solid collection of hook-heavy tunes. Singer Steve Plunkett has a knack for catchy choruses. He leads the band through a number of memorable melodic rockers, among which "Send Her to Me," "Cloud 10," and "Friday" are clear standouts. "In the Night" is a top-notch power ballad, and while puerile frat-house anthems like "Night Teen & Non-Stop" and "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend Isn't Me" come off rather forced, the band excels at classy, mid-paced rockers such as "Thrill of Love" and "All I'm Gonna Take." Anyone expecting ridiculous aggression should stick with Mötley Crüe, but for those who prefer a sleeker hard rock sound in the vein of Night Ranger, this album will certainly satisfy. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia

Not just "one hit wonders" here

Created: 02/08/09
Autograph may remain a somewhat obscure, little known band today but the song "Turn Up The Radio" really took all of us heavy metal hard rockers by storm back in the mid 80's when it was released. If you give this cd a chance you'll find what some of us have known all along, that this entire studio release rocks and truly doesn't have a single bad song on it. If your a fan of the 80's hard rock scene then this is a must own for you!

I've always enjoyed the song "Turn Up The Radio" and liked it so much I decided to give the entire album a try. I was not disappointed. The majority of the songs featured are great. Although there are a couple sub-par filler songs but overall a good album. A great forgotten metal album that I highly recommended for metal fans of 80's and those who like that 80's metal "sound". A great buy for a great price!
