) You may recall that Westerns just weren't being made much when this came out. It's a glorious story of good guys that have done bad things versus guys that did bad things and went very bad. The characters are likeable and generate your concern. Filled with interesting people as well as plot twists and turns.
This superbit is pretty sharp and actually reveals the grain of the film on my 50 plasma so scenes are as sharp as they can be for old film, BUT the soundtrack is grandly progected from this DVD. The music is stunning and as sweeping as the vistas or the action.
A great cast, fine story and super soundtrack breathed new life into the western with the release of Silverado. It's one you can watch with your little pardners and not have too too much explaining to do so good for most families with preteens.

) Action packed Western starring Kevin Kline,Danny Glover,Glen Scott & Kevin Costner. This movie gets your attention right from the beginning,has great Western scenes and good acting,including Helen Hunt's part as a saloon keeper.One of my favorites for all these reasons & more!

) After a recent trip to South Dakota I decided to buy this DVD after going to a restaurant thta Kevin Costner owns. There was movie memorabilia all around, I had seen Silverado many years ago, and the restaurant reminded me of it. Upon our return I went to e-bay and looked up the movie and bought it. I love this version because of the special features, particularly "A return to Silverado with Kevin Costner," but I also enjoyed "The making of Silverado" as well. Even if you don't like westerns, this movie is still great. The acting, scenery and the story are all outstanding.

Great movie and a good western.You just have to watch the movie to see what happens.This mpvie will be a collectors item someday get it while you can.This would be great for someones collection.
