Game Summary
The chances are you’ll have either played or heard of the Sims franchise. With over 100 million units sold across the Globe, The Sims is the biggest PC franchise in history. For this third iteration in the strategic life-simulation series, the gameplay has evolved rather than changed drastically from its original format.
In The Sims 3 you can once again expect to follow the daily activities of one of more virtual persons across an open-world neighbourhood. With a wealth of possibilities at your fingertips, it’s up to you to shape the destiny of your characters by determining their traits and career paths, while forging plenty of relationships along the way. Essentially, you're tasked with micro-managing your virtual life in this colourful suburb, earning cash in the process and building your ideal home on your way to acheiving your ultimate life-time goal.
The Sims 3 expands on previous iterations by offering a number of new features, including an expanded creation tool that allows you to extensively customize your Sim and in-game items, from wallpaper to floorboards. Buy and Build modes have been refined and a whole host of new community features have been added, including the ability to create movies and share them with friends. Sims fans can also look forward to public events that will take place in the neighbourhood, including pool parties and barbecues, as well as public protests and movie premieres.
It’s The Sims as we know it, with even more to think about than ever before. Like previous games, you're only limited by your own creativity and the amount of time you're willing to invest in creating your virtual lifestyle.

The Sims 3 (Collector's Edition) (PC Games)

Well I'm a big SIMS player and I want to start out saying I love this game. Some of what I'm going to say about The Sims3 will sound like criticism or complaint but its just because I have such a passion for the game. I've played The original Sims since it began and I waited a long time before purchasing and playing The Sims 2 because, first of all, I was worried that it was more like The Sims Online which I played for awhile but didn't like as much, but it turned out to be better than that. I haven't played it with all its expansions, but I have tried Open for Business and I purchased Double Deluxe so it came with Nightlife included. However, I'm reviewing The Sims 3 so I'll get more into that. I purchased this because I couldn't resist. I wanted to see what differences there were. Well, there are quite a few. I enjoy playing this game and I'm not sorry I bought it, but it isn't as much fun as The Sims 2. Now, having said that, I will say that the additional content corrects, makes up for and completely out does The Sims 2. Specifically raising the children isn't as much of a pain, and getting to and from work, being able to control certain aspects of what you do while you're at work, being able to make decisions about what the maid and repairmen are doing at your home - all of this makes the game MORE fun. But, my goodness, it's cumbersome to manage the toons much more so than The Sims 2 and some things are much harder to do and more complicated - too complicated if you ask me. Like moving from one house to another. Way too much to deal with. While I appreciate them giving me the option whether to sell the furniture or keep it and take it with, its hard to know how much money I actually have - whereas before it was very simple - you just moved and bought a home in your price range. It's harder to make friends, whoo hoo or get married now. It's very difficult to tell where you're at with your friendships. Are you good friends or best friends? I miss the matchmaker from The Sims 2 who sold love potions that I used to hit my Sims up for some lovin when they weren't inclined. I also find they get old too soon. I want to explore some more! I wish that The Sims 2 had the same interactions available because I'm going to continue playing that. However, all in all The Sims 3 is a great game!

The Sims 3 is just what I expected: a BIG step up from previous versions. What I love the most is that there are NO MORE LOADING SCREENS!! (except for the intro) Your sim is free to travel and visit other sims without you having to wait for that location to load. There are numerous vehicles to purchase and you can customize everything!!!! There are still a few bugs to be worked out (if you plan on downloading custom content, you will have to update your game) but overall, EA listened to us and delivered. I would recommend this game to any Sims lover!!

The Sims 3 (Collector's Edition) (PC Games, 2009)

It's a pretty decent game, lots of detail and options for your Sim's life. Having to keep a disk in the drive is really annoying and the developer should find an alternative.

The game is great, especially the ever changing job opportunities. The new lifetime achievements feature is much better than the lifetime goals in The Sims 2. On the down side, the sports car download that comes with the collectors edition would not download, thus I did not recieve it :(
