Sizzling Sixteen sizzles and then fizzles
Created: 02/08/10
I bought Sizzling Sixteen for the simple reason that I have ALL of Evanovich's other books.
This one shows more promise than the last few did...up to a point. Stepahnie Plum is off seraching for Cousin Vinnie...he has been kidnapped! The premise is good and there is fun and action in the first section of the book. BUT, then the main conflict is resolved about two thirds of the way through the book in a VERY anti-climatic fashion. The book continues and the reader is left wondering WHY. The final section of the book comes to a second climax in what has become a formulaic Evanovich way.
It is obvious that Evanovich is changing things in the life of her beloved character. Morelli is still there; and Ranger is slowly moving off of his back burner ~ or maybe Stephanie is rethinking how she looks at Ranger. What ever the case something is happening here. Is Evanovich preparing the reader for the end of the series? I guess we will all have to wait for book seventeen to find out.
My best advise to all of those Evanovich/Stephanie Plum fans thought is to go back to your book shelves and dig out those first few Stephanie books. One For the Money; Two For the Dough; Three to Get Deadly; and Four to Score are the truely GOOD novels that Evanovich has produced. These were written before a formula surfaced and things became same old same old in the life of our favorite Trenton Bounty Hunter!

Love the Stephanie Plum Novels!

As always, Janet Evanovich has written another wonderful book about the life of Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter, and her adventures with her co-workers. Evanovich's writing is so clear and descriptive that you sit alone in a room, laughing out loud. Lula is described so well, you can almost SEE her. And Connie's what I imagine to be a typical "Jersey Girl", big hair, hooters, and all. I can't wait to see one of her books made into a movie!

All sixteen Plum novels are great. Unfortunatly I read it so fast that it's another six months till seventeen comes out. If you want to read a great series of books you can't go wrong with Janet Evanovich Plum series. The Plum series are easy to read, contains laugh out load writing, and the characters are trully believable.Hopfully the series will never end. Thanks Janet for another great book.

Stephanie Plum Series

Love her books to death but the series is becoming so repetitive. Both my daughter and I would LOVE to see Janet write Stephanie married to one or the other men in her life, have a kid or two!! Cars blown up, bad guys throwing off shots, doughnut eating, Lula in tight clothes (it's time for her to loose some weight), more doughnut eating, enter Morelli, enter Ranger, nothing happens (lets have a some ACTION/DRAMA) Stephanie narrowly escapes but does, eats more doughnuts, Grandma Mazur funny line, fried chicken eating, MORE doughnut eating, and yet Stephanie stays skinny, hot, without 'action', and never ages. Will continue to read the books like any true fan, but I wish she'd finish this series and start a new one!
