    A wonderful story to read. It took me right into a foreign world that I probably would not of thought of to read. A love story, politics and culture all into one book. What more could you ask for. I would highly recommend this book. I can't wait to read the rest of Xinran books...

    Good book, especially for those familiar with Asian customs, but the title is misleading. It is a love story, unlike anything that could happen in the USA. Opens your eyes to how very different people around the world are.
