Great album!
This cd rocks pretty much all the way through. I had never really gotten into Skid Row because I thought they were just another 80's/early 90's hair band, but they kick ass! S...Read more

Skid Row: Sebastian Bach (vocals); Dave "The Snake" Sabo, Scotti Hill (guitar); Rachel Bolan (bass); Rob Affuso (drums, percussion).Recorded at New River Studios, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Scream Studios, Studio City, California.Personnel: Rachel Bolan (guitar, 12-string guitar, strings); Dave "The Snake" Sabo (guitar, marimba); Scott Hill (guitar); Rob Affuso (drums, cymbals, percussion).Audio Mixer: Michael Wagener .Recording information: New River Studios, Fort Lauderdale, FL; Scream Studios, Studio City, CA.Unknown Contributor Roles: Dave "The Snake" Sabo; Rachel Bolan; Rob Affuso; Scott Hill.Skid Row took the strategically contrived, super-polished sonics of their self-titled debut and dirtied things up for the more fitting, grittier direction of their second full-length album, 1991's SLAVE TO THE GRIND. SLAVE has the historical distinction of being the first metal album to debut at #1 on the Billboard album chart and remains the crown jewel of the band's catalog.

Editorial Reviews
..the band makes its tough stance real..
Entertainment Weekly (19910621)

3 Stars - Good ..would have been 4 Stars on sonics alone (docked a star for misoginistic Get the F*** Out). ...kick-in-the-groin riffing and guitars swooping out of feedback skies..
Rolling Stone (19910822)

Great album!

Created: 15/02/11
This cd rocks pretty much all the way through. I had never really gotten into Skid Row because I thought they were just another 80's/early 90's hair band, but they kick ass! Sebastian Bach's vocals are totally metal and the guitar work is good too.

Slave to the Grind [pa] - Skid Row (cd 1991)

When I was 15, Skid Row was the first concert I attended. At 31 this brings back some good times. Sebastian Bach has such a unique power to his voice. In the late 80's early 90's no group was better than Skid Row.

One of the last great metal CD's

Created: 06/12/08
I remember buying this the day it came out. It has 2 version dirty or clean edition. Beeps on the clean version take away from the songs. This was one of the few metal CD's to debut in the #1 spot on billboards top 200. I recomend this to any 80's hair metal head or new hard rocker. You won't be disappointed. 10 out of 10.
