Saving the galaxy is extremely tiring, and Flinx, according to his starship's artificial intelligence, needs to take some time off. However, the vacation spot he chooses is less than ideal: the isolated planet of Jast is the object of contention between two alien races, the AAnn (whom Flinx has faced many times before) and the Vssey.

) This is a book in the Pip & Flinx series by Alan Dean Foster. Usually his books are excellent but this one seems to be a little confusing and disjointed. There is not much about the two main characters in this book, or his amazing spacecraft; but a lot about a minor alien world and it's inhabitants. Not as much action as usual either. I bought it to complete our set of this series and am glad it was a VERY reasonable purchase, as I'm a little disappointed in it. I'd recommend this book only if you are a collector of this series and need this book to complete it.
