Smallville The Eighth Season

The best season ever ! Since season 4 I've never seen such a exacting season on TV. More DC characters than ever appear in town like Tess Mercer,Doomsday, the Legion, Zatanna,Maxima and Toyman. You'll gonna see Clark Kent,Lois Lane and Chloe Sullivan like you had never seen before.Clark finaly going to work with Lois at Daily Planet and creates his double identity as reporter AKA red-blue-blur. Lois have her love for Clark much more stronger this year what gives us so many fun episodes with them. Chloe have the challenge of her life with brainiac taking over her body and one decision about Davis Bloom(Doomsday) that will change forever the destiny of her and Superman's.

A glimmer of hope in a time of gloom and Doomsday.

Season eight of Smallville continues its tradition of quality well made stories. This season's story arc dealt with life and death in the presence of fate. As usual in these situations questions of free will and self determination are explored. Histories of some of the characters are delved into, so their choices and reasoning are better understood. Questions and choices abound from the beginning. Do you take the easy path or do the right thing is one of many. Lurking in the background throughout is the impending threat of Doomsday and the destruction of their world. To counterbalance the gloom are an impending marraige and assorted on again off again relationships. Over all its escapest entertainment done really good. They'll be parts were you'll rute for the hero, laugh at the silliness, and maybe even cry.

The set isn't loaded with extras, but deleted scenes and two featurettes round it out nicely. By the eighth season most sets barely have those.

Standard artwork and packaging doesn't detract from the quality of the material. It does give it a consistency with the other sets.

For fans of the series it is a buy. Even for non fans, there is a lot of good stuff here. Intrigue, romance, betrayal, murder, and lots of action give it a wide appeal.

Great Show!

I Love Smallville and this season was no disappointment! I own every season and I think it was a clever idea to chronicle the life of Clark Kent "Superman" before the first movie came out. Its great to see what transpired between his arrival and his superhero life and why he is the way he is (not to mention why he wears what he does LOL).

Smallville - The Complete Eighth Season (DVD, 2009)

I love everything a about it! What's not to love? I also loved the 1st 7 seasons, and have seen them all, including the 8th, about 5 times. It was time to rethink the way the characters were being played out, because there's only so much you can do with their growth and development over a 7-year period. Then, you've got the thing with Lois and Clark (Kal-El), and how to weave them in their transition in order to follow the original thread and subsequent developments both to make the story line consistent with the developments and additions of the plot/subplots in the DC Comic series, and with other developments in other venues. I hope Kristen Kreuk (sp?) will be in other movies/tv/entertainment stuff where we can see her work in those, also. John Glover was just mmm mmm. Annette O'Toole was the reason I started watching the series. I'm a real fan of hers. Love her work in anything.

Allison Mack's direction in the one airing of the 8th season was amazing. The gal's just plain great. I love it when we get a chance to see the actor's work in more than interpreting a part, for us...don't know how to say it any other way. I enjoy all the actors in the seasons. Golly, is there any way you can work some reasonable, coherent way to bring Jimmie Olsen back, or would that just muddy up the works? I thought the actor who portrayed him was great, and he brought a lot of energy to the character.

I could say more, but, suffice it to say, I can't wait for the 9th season to arrive on dvd, next year, so I can analyze and understand every little nuance better.

I'm 67 years young, and still love "SUPERMAN."

Tell all the cast, writers, directors, producers and anyone having anything to do with SMALLVILLE, they've got an older dyed in the wool fan who loves them (and you) all.

God Bless all of you, and may your way be peaceful and prosperous

Exciting!!!!!

My family and I have watched Smallville since the first season and we have argued over different aspects of the show and who our favorite characters are. Season 8 is getting into the newer territory of the Superman saga. We are getting into more known territory and watching Clark grow as a man and a superhero. This show is full of action and intrigue and will keep you on your toes!
