Smoke Signals (DVD, 2011)

I purchased this movie after having a faint memory of it as I often caught only short clips of it on cable many years back. If your interested in watching real Native Americans and their lifestyle, I recommend it. Thomas and Victor bond as they travel via greyhound to recover the ashes of Victors deceased father. Thomas is hilarious. His comments, his way of thinking, and his actions. Victor constantly schools him on life, his thoughts, and most of all, how Native Americans should look. Great movie that really shows you some of the ups and downs on the reservations and how alcohol plays a huge role. I loved it.

A coming of age movie that deals with the inner self of two young Natives.

A fun and interesting look at they way that they see the world that they live in.

I bought this DVD because of seeing parts of it on You Tube. It is not a bad film, just slow. It does have some great native humor and touching parts. Not a film I would see multiple times. Good for 1 maybe 2 viewings.

This movie is hilarious. I am married to a native american and live near a reservation so this movie makes more sense to me than someone who doesnt live on or near a rez. Worth watching.

Kind of like Nepolean Dynamite, a culty kind of feel with some neat parts that have a human touch, gives you a feel for Native American lifestyles and conditions. True life experiences and the challenges faced by a select group faced with the tough conditions of man made demons and circumstances.
