BRILLIANT IDEA to design your socks!!!!!!!!!

Created: 09/10/10
This was better than I imagined! You choose your cuff pattern, body pattern and foot pattern - it has photos of each completed and flip pages at the end of the book that you can put the combinations together to see what your choice will look like!!!! I used the flip photos immediately to put a combination of the cutest socks I had ever seen! The book also explains several cast-on choices, Kitchener Stich and Three-Needle bind offs... There is much, much more!!! I love this book!!!!!!!

What a nifty little book!

Created: 16/11/10
I recently received this book and spent quite some time perusing. I really liked the idea of having the flip pages to see what the socks would look like when completed. The pages are split horizontally into three parts, so you can choose a cuff, a body and a foot. After "playing" with the pages, it is an EXCELLENT idea. The directions seem to be written clearly and concisely. Can't wait to get started!

Wonderful Book

Created: 11/09/10
Socks A LaCarte helps sock knitters put stitch combinations together to form a truely unique sock pattern. The book describes each pattern in the first section then goes into a three page split. You can pick any of each section you like best for the cuff, heal and foot. This book even gives you the option to make toe socks!

Aha! Sock makers get ready for fun!

Created: 13/05/09
The creaters of this book figured out how to mix and match cuffs, bodies, heels and toes in a way that is easy to understand. I have made two pairs of socks so far and find that this method is both easy and the socks really fun to make- and foremostly, I needed these socks to be comfortable and soft when worn as opposed to being able to feel the texture of the stitches. Well, ladies- you did it! When I was a kid I loved those "Mix & Match" books and now I have found a new flip book that allows knitters of all levels to expand on their creativity.

Socks A La Carte

Created: 06/03/11
I have just begun an interest in knitting again-this time for socks; I've purchased several in the past few weeks, wanting to get as much info up front as possible. I like the idea of split pages, to view different ideas/samples for heels, toes and body of the socks....it also appears to be written in very clear and friendly style, which makes it easier to understand; ie, when you feel a friend is "teaching you" there's a different aura about the learning process! I will enjoy this journey, I'm sure!
