SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs (Sony PlayStation 2, 2002)

Originally bought as a gift for my brother...this game has turned out to be a family favorite. The version I purchased was M. It appears that this game may get this rating because it contains simulated violence. However, it is a military game. You kinda have to expect that. If I was going to complain about anything pertaining to this game...it would be that if you utilize the headset, someone watching cannot hear what your team member is saying through the television or surround sound.

Overall this game is exceptional. It delivers incredible audio and video effects that in 2002...was just the tip of the iceberg in this technology. This game provides a fun experience if played with others. I recommend this game to anyone who has or takes an interest in our Armed Forces.

Socom is maybe the best shooter game for PS2. It has killer graphics and great interaction with your playing field.pack with plenty of death missions. Loads of weapons to use, and lots of cool things you can unlock as you advance. Its easy to give team members commands, by voice or controller. All and all this is a must have for any serious gamer.

I was completely addicted to this game for 2 months of my life. It is a realistic military battle type game. I especially enjoyed the online multi-player modes. I recommend this game to all.

Undoubtedly the best Ps2 game I have every played. Online is the Halo 2 of the sony PS2. Never have I seen the realism and tactical simulation as in this Game. What made me purchase was a demo and advertisements of the headset. Another key too is the headset which enables one to chat with other players and teammates. Socom is the only game I know so far that has utilized the headset to its maximum potential. If you ever want to buy a game that will last for a year or longer---go with SOCOM US NAVY SEALS for the PS2 console.

This is the reason I bought a Playstation 2. This is the reason why alot of pepole I know bought playstations. This game is amazing online! Playing with other people and against other people. Socom Is the greatest shooter ever made. And Each sequil gets better because online compatibility. Cant wait for Socom 4!

Update 12/6/2007 Ok so Socom 1 & 2 Were really good but the third was lacking much! The online play has been cut down to like 10 stages they are huge but give us back our old stages Frostfire, Cross Roads, Blizzard. Looking forward to the release of the new socom for the PS3 see you all on the battle field!
