Movie synopsis

In the sparkling comedy SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE directed by Nancy Meyers (WHAT WOMEN WANT), divorced, successful playwright Erica Barry (Diane Keaton) has given up on finding a fulfilling romantic relationship. When her beautiful young daughter Marin (Amanda Peet) visits the family's Hamptons home with her aging, lothario boyfriend Harry Sanborn (Jack Nicholson), Erica's plight as a mature, single woman comes into stark focus. Harry exclusively dates young women, which infuriates Erica. Though initially they repel each other, things change when Harry has a heart attack and Erica comes to his aid. The two make peace and discover a smoldering attraction to one another. However, love never comes without complications. Harry still has a romantic obligation to Marin, and Erica gets a taste of Harry's lifestyle when the sexy young doctor Julian (Keanu Reeves) hits on her. Whether Erica and Harry can reconcile their differences provides the premise for an elegant, touching, and amusing tale. In their first movie together since REDS, Keaton and Nicholson share natural chemistry, each giving powerful and moving performances under Meyers' expert direction.

When he agrees to go to the Hamptons with his girlfriend, plans go awry when her playwright mother, Erica, stops in unannounced. While the living arrangements are awkward at first, Harry soon discovers there's nothing wrong with -- and plenty good about -- acting your age.

Excellent movie with excellent actors. Jack Nicholson is fantastic, as always, as an older never-been-married womanizer. Diane Keaton is marvelous as Jack's latest conquest's high strung mother. When a heart attack puts Jack in Diane's home for a few days, sparks fly (bad AND good). Keanu Reeves is great as Jack's doctor. If you like Jack or Diane, you'll LOVE this movie. I believe Jack won an Oscar for his role. A must-have movie for any fan of Jack.

Older woman and younger man....and who couldn't like Diane Keaton as their older girlfriend!! Keanu Reeves plays a doctor very smitten with her...a cute twist on the story since Diane's daughter is involved with Jack Nicholson...just the opposite from her mom and the doctor! When Keanu and Diane become a couple..he shows a very romantic side which has eluded her for many years. Then Jack comes into her life..more than she expected..but he hurts her and she moves on. He is very committed at being non-committed. She wants more than just a quick one-week interlude. Their coming together during a storm is very funny indeed...especially her taking his blood pressure! He realizes that he made a huge mistake in letting her go....but can he win her back from Keanu?? It is a very funny and entertaining movie..one that you will enjoy ..over and over!!

Another hilarious movie with Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson. They are the to stars of this funny comedy. They fall in love with eachother and break up in a sort of separating way, only to be reunited in Paris a year later. A+ good movie

I loved it! This movie is Romantic and Funny. I like it when she is so up tight with Jack Nicholson because she does not really like him. Then over time she falls for him and does stuff she had not done in a long time. Great actors Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, Keanu Reeves and Amanda Peet. It is great definently recomend it (even my husband liked it and he is not a romantic comedy type movie guy).
