Sonic Riders (Sony PlayStation 2, 2006)

This sonic game is as good as they always are. It moves as fast as you want it to or as slow as you need it to. My husband now plays Sonic with our 6 yr old who "teaches" us about Sonic. It's a fun game to play - either alone or with someone else. It brings back many memories for the older game player and exciting twists for the young players.

This game was purchased a couple weeks ago and tried a few times. I was not very impressed with the game. The game play itself was very crowded and was very hard to understand. I bought the game because it was cheap and I was a big fan of Sonic and thought that the awesomeness of Sonic on the Sega game system would carry over. I did like the layout and the many options available for in game play. However, this does not really help the overall crowdedness of the game.

Pro gaming magazines didn't quite give it the best of ratings. Personally i think they graded Sonic a little bit too harsh. Because i love the Sonic franchise. This racing game is a prime example. It has the traditional sonic speed but your on air boards. Then you have the rivals and the tricks. That is cool especially for Sonic. He is all about speed and this gives you a prime example of this speed. I give Sonic Riders A 5/5 cause i believe this is one of the better 3d Sonic games. The level engineering is very effective. I absolutely love i. Control scheme, simple yet effective, tricks, cool and effective, and the characters provide the depth in the game.

my son loves to play this game. it has great stunts you can do. and the racing is great also. i have a hard time trying to get him off of it.

Watching my niece figure this game out before I did was astounding to say the least. I have been playing video games since I was 10 when the Atari 2600 first came out and from there, games became more sophisticated, became 3 dimensional on the screen and needed books in order to solve them. I could not get past the first level, but my niece got past a few levels and still has yet to finish this game! It was a great game to watch. The characters were riding very fast. The graphics were better than the new Shadow game. It reminded me of Sonic Adventures 2 on the Dreamcast. This is fun to play!
