Sony DVP-CX850D DVD Player

I bought this unit to use primarily as a cd juke box.
The dvd functions were not important to me as this unit only has component outputs and I moved on to units with hdmi outputs.
This unit is really great as a cd player as it has choice of coax,optical or analog audio outputs.
The digital analog converter(dac) in this unit is a cut above the usual jukebox multidisc player.
Having owned (non Elite) Pioneer and (non ES) Sony cd jukebox players, I can assure you that this unit is way above average (sound and build quality) compared to those.
The styling is above average and much better looking than the usual jukebox.
The only drawbacks(if important to you) are the unit is deep 20" or so and you need the on-screen menu to use most of the advanced cd disc changing functions.
All in all this unit is a much better value as a multi-disc cd changer for about the same money as any stand alone cd player.
If you can pick up one of these players on e-bay for under $200.00 it is a steal.

I have since the above review comments purchased another unit on E-bay.
I decided to use this one for my dvd collection. My research on the internet came across several reviews that were high on its video playback performance.
I hooked it up to my Sony 60" XBR HDTV with the component cables not expecting too much.
I was very surprised to discover that this unit can deliver an extremely good picture despite the fact that the standard dvd resolution is low compared to HD or Blu-ray.
Most of the critical comments that I read on the reviews had more to do with the
various cataloging features and folder groupings.
Since all I want to do is watch movies I avoid completely all the bells and whistles this unit supposedly does.
I have made a list of all my movies and use that to locate my choice with the remote.
If you can acquire one of this units below $200.00 you will have purchase a great dvd changer.

I will count them, this team without a doubt some is what was looking for since I have a great quantity of disc in dvd and me toward I inconvenience being putting disc to change the movie with my old dvd reader, but since it is able to buy this Sony DVP-CX850D Multi-disc DVD Player solves this problem since in the 200 disc enter and one can say that now I have my own library since in dvd's it orders them it puts them name and picture to choose that movie wants to look, good solution for storage of your movies and the price that he/she pays was a bargain a gift, I am for sure your also found something I eat I already found it good luck for you

Load up to 200 cd's/DVD's (any combination) into the player, run the setup program and you have them sorted in minutes into folders that you can play whenever you want to.
Press the cd button on the remote and the player will list which slots your cd's are stored in, same with pressing the DVD button, it will list all dvd's in the system. You can input information into the system as easaliy as connecting a keyboard to the front of the machine and typing in titles and catagories.
They are available in larger sizes, but it will take a while before I get to wat to change 200 dvd's over, just think, I can auto play 200 cd's in a row!
The remote is also programmable to control most television sets (it took about 10 seconds to take over my Sanyo system.

The Sony DVP-CX850D is a great all around unit, it's pretty easy to use and setup and so far it's been working great. The only things that would have been nice are if it would autodetect the title and maybe even a graphic. It does it for a few of the newer dvd's but not very many. Instead I have to type each name in (and you only get 16 characters) the categories are also lacking too. There are some videos that don't really fall under action, drama, comedy, etc, The sorting works pretty well, I've got a button for my daughter's movies, another for the wife's, and one for me. For the most part it's a great unit, just a couple short comings that I can live with.

this is avery marvilus discplayer, it playes music videos infodisc & movies disc. it is also able to play 200 disc at a time. it has a multitude of opptions like it will function with a 300 disc player to play disc onit.
