Best Phone of 2007
Created: 13/03/07
This hone has everything that anyone would like about it. 3.2mp camera, most phones are 1.3 and some 2.0. It's like having a Sony digital Cyber-shot Camera. Blogging, gamming, bluetooth, music, expandable memory card slot, Vioce recording, Gsm, Calender, Clock, timer, Great display (screen), 7 hour talk time battery, Fast Web (internet), and it's stylish. GREAT PHONE!!!!!
BEST PHONE OF 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sony Ericsson K790a Cyber-shot - A sexy all-in-one!
Created: 11/04/07
I've been a big fan of the Sony Ericsson W800i and W810i models. Im not usually a fan of soap-bar styled phones, but Sony Ericsson really takes it up a notch with their appealing designs and features. What you get is a quality and high performing cell phone with a sexy yet simple looking design. Expect nothing less from the new K790a and even a few nice upgrades. And like it's predecessors, expect an expensive price tag, this model at $500.
The K790a is Sony's first Cyber-shot branded phone and with good reason. It sports an unheard of 3.2MP for a cell phone. Not only that, it also sports a powerful Xenon flash that will flood even the dimmest and dark environments with light. Top it off with the same features found on a digital camera, a lens cover and a design that even looks like a digital camera from the back.
What good is a camera that takes great pictures without a great display? The K790a sports a brilliant 262,144-color 240x320 pixel display. This means sharp and vibrant pictures as well excellent graphics and animation (games look top notch).
The K790a also sports a digital music player similar to that of the Walkman branded phones, with the same use but slightly different layout. Like the Walkman branded phones, expect crisp and clear MP3 playback and many different controls. Phone also plays MP3 ringtones. Also features an FM tuner, which you can use if you've purchased the headset accessory, which acts as the antenna.
Shared internal memory is only 64MB, so it would be a good idea to get a larger Memory Stick Micro to store more photos, music and other information.
Sony Ericsson has done a splendid job creating this all-in-one phone. Not only is it a cell phone, it comes with a sharp digital camera and a high quality MP3 player. So $500 doesn't seem so bad to invest now, does it?

k790a - best phone ever
Created: 09/04/08
this is the best phone ever!!! well, best that i know right now
pros: great 3.2 mp camera, good xenon flash, good digital zoom, nice looking, durable case, great videos, good mp3 player, good weight, extremely good battery life (only need to charge every 5 days or so including using camera, mp3 player often), fm radio, comes with good earphones, a2dp bluetooth compatible, bluetooth remote, able to download games, good button layout, nice display
cons: recording videos could have been better quality, far away shots in the dark still come out a bit dark because the flash throw is short, no wifi
if there's one reason for you to buy this phone, buy it for battery life - it's way better than having to charge your iphone, n95 every day
and it can completely replace your need to carry a phone and camera
well, that's two reasons i guess!

Terrific Buy!

In the beginning of the summer I purchased a w810i, which is one of the Sony walkman (music phone), I was instantly infatuated with this phone, played music and had a lot of features which all come in very handy, after a few months I became frustrated with the 2.0mp camera, although 2.0mp my seem fair, it produces grainy pictures even in superb light conditions, and the super bright flash failed to produce acceptable night shots, I did a little research and found the k790a, This phone did everything the w810i did and better, on top of which it had a 3.2 mp camera. Now I know from 2.0 mp to 3.2mp does not seem like such a big deal, but it IS! The pictures from this camera are comparable to any decent digital camera, and the night shots it produces are sharp and crisp, in one word, Superb. I have loaded mine with a 2gb m2 memory stick, currently I have approximately 280 songs for my listening pleasure, a bunch of games and about 100 pictures which I have been too lazy to transfer to my computer with quite close to 600MB (Phone + Memory Stick) to spare. This phone has my entire life on it, Contacts, Appointments, To Do Tasks, e-mail. When I am on the road this phone becomes my link to the internet for my laptop, it is absolutely perfect for somebody on the go who wants everything they need at their fingertips, if this phone is not out of your price range, hell, even if it is, buy it! I promise you will not be disappointed, imaging having an MP3 Player, Digital Camera, Phone, Organizer, and Wireless access point, all of the above basically, in one small innovative device. Bottom line, this is the smartest non smart phone.

Sony Ericsson K790a Cyber-shot

First off, its an unlocked phone so you can use it on just about any gsm (sim card based) carrier. As soon as I got it, I poped in the sim and off I went. What needs to be kept in mind with this particular phone is that it is based off of a camera. The phone is really more of an added feature to the camera, while most phones have a limited and almost useless camera. So yes the camera is great for a phone. As for the other features, there is the music player and bluetooth that I use frequently. The music player is a nice add on if I am without my iPod. Definitely not a replacement, but in a snap, the phone will work as a mp3 player that has a very loud speaker built into it. The bluetooth is awesome. Took 5 minutes to sync all of my contacts and calendar events with my macbook. It comes with a pc suite, but I was just fine without it. Battery life is not the best but definitely could be worse. It is projected to get almost 2 weeks of battery life, which I have no idea where they could have come up with those numbers but really its like 3 days. All in all its a great phone that will do everything and more than you need it to do.
