Sony Handycam DCR-HC20 Camcorder - Silver

This is the best easiest digital camera I've owned. In that it's easy to operate, small enough to handle well and it's weight is perfect. Easy digital conversion from tape to digital format directly into a usb port on my computer. It was recommended to me by a dear friend and worth it's weight! I can't find a single thing I dislike about it. I also have a Canon Hi 8 camera an ES8400 that was dropped once and I had to replace it, it's heavier, larger, and a bit tricky to operate and not digital and takes forever to convert the video files to dvd through a home based dvd recorder. The Sony DCR - HC20 is by far the best for the buck.

You can't beat these things. I owned one for 7 years and used it for my job, full time, all day every day. It finally konked out on me and I don't blame it. I bought 4 digital HD cameras to try to replace it, they were all horrible and I 100% honestly went back on Ebay and purchased a used one of these again because I know how great they are, they don't distort while recording EXTRA LOUD sources (Such as live bands) Crystal clear sound. So, I'm back in business again and literally have 4 new digital HD cameras here that I refuse to use. This is the most friendly and reliable camera I've found for the type of work that I do and the abuse that it has to take. Plus, you get them now for no money because "Better" cameras are on the market. If there were better, I would be using it because I can afford to. But you can't afford the superiority of this camera. My job 100% depends on a video camera and this is the one I rely on and I'll buy as many use ones of these as I can find on Ebay to ensure that I have one for the rest of my professional life.

This is a great camera. The overall quality is great for a small and simple Handycam. The only thing I wasn't satisfied with was the LCD touch screen. It responds to touch perfectly fine but it goes from normal color to blue a lot. In other words it flickers between normal and blue.

I already owned this camera and it broke. I was told it would cost $550 to repair it. So I started looking at other cameras. I was familiar with this camera, had all the accessories that go with it, and I really liked how "Friendly" the camera was. Since Sony does not make this camera anymore, someone told me to check out ebay. So I bid and I got my camera for a lot less than $550! I am very pleased with my purchase.

Positive -handy, portible, long lasting battery, very good video quality
Negative - relability. Lense doesnt show any image - I recorded less than 8 tapes on it. Search this model on ebay - half of the broken ones have that issue.
