Sony Handycam DCR-PC100 Camcorder - Metallic silver

I love this camcorder because of it's high video quality. It uses mini dv tape. Plus it is very lightweight and compact. It also has a feature where you can video tape in complete darkness. Nevertheless, the image will be in black and white. For full color video taping at night, you can attach a flash. It can also take still pictures and save them onto a memory stick or directly onto your video footage.

I own this camcorder since a long time now and I am mostly satisfied with it. Nevertheless, I have to warn you about following problems I discovered:

- When you record a video in a quiet environment, you will be able, when you play what you recorded, to hear the motor noise of the DV cassete deck on the tape,
- it is not efficient in low light environments,
- it does not react fast enough in focus changes particularly in low light environments,
- it is too heavy for a helmet if you practice skydiving (I know that it does not concern a lot of people but...).

Today I am looking to replace it just because I am tired of models including a cassete deck and because it is not HD compliant. I have to say that it is not easy but new models are coming working with memory cards or SSD disks. I will have to wait still a little bit before to change my good old DCR-PC100.

I bought a Handycam DSR-PC100 two weeks ago and was impressed with the shippeng very fast, now I can enjoy my camera with my kids because is very comfortable to travel anytime with my family.The videocamera is not old and very easy to use for anyone, is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good.

I have an underwater housing that this camera fits into. I have purchased this one and I am looking for another one soon. The housing is for this model only and if I have it upgraded it will cost me about $2500.00 I have used this camera many times before and it works perfectly. So I decided to invest the $ 2500.00 into several cameras so my underwater housing would be functional for quite some time.

This camera is so good, I have purchased several of them for my family. So many features and the thing I like best is that it is easy to make DVD's of videos taken with this camera, in order to give to others. Newer HD cameras do not have this feature since videos taken with those cameras must be viewed on a computer or through the video camera itself.
