Built-in Digital Still Camera with Memory Stick allows you to store still images in digital format at 640x480 resolution in Sony's new Memory Stick memory. Digital 8 Achieves stunning picture quality, with up to 500 lines of horizontal resolution and records high quality 12-bit digital stereo audio.SteadyShot Picture Stabilization Another thing you don't need to worry about is holding the camcorder perfectly still. Sony's SteadyShot system uses sophisticated motion sensors to remove unwanted picture shake. 12-bit/16-bit PCM Digital Stereo Audio Recording offers a choice of either a single 16-bit/48kHz stereo audio track for DAT-quality recording, or two 12-bit/32kHz stereo tracks for CD sound quality. Buying and using the Sony DCR-320

Created: 05/03/10
This is one of SONY's finest products. I bought this camcorder because I had used one of these models before. It works well manually or automatically in light and focus needs It's an older model but supplies are available. It puts out good quality and is easily edited. It's inputs and outputs are complete, accessible, and are commonly used in computers for editing. Batteries are available that last for over six hours. The external mic gives the availability of wireless microphone to cut noise down. The lens gives a broad range of field. I've used both pro camcorders and consumer models, and would rate this the best for the money. I've shot a play & edited the tape. It's all I thought it would be, great!

SONY DCR TRV320E Excellent Camcorder

Created: 17/05/09
This camera is now showing its age but still offers excellent results. Described as two cameras in one - true but I see it like this. If you have any old recordings on analogue Hi8 tapes and also normal video 8, this camera will play back those tapes, allowing you to convert them to another format or to upload them onto a computer. Recording on the other hand demands metal particle Digital 8 tapes because it only records in the Digital 8 format. The camera is not light but for serious shooting that is an advantage. This camera also uses the InfoLithium batteries and it is possible to get a high capacity battery that will allow about five hours of recording in one charge - buy one here for less than £10. Although not a 3ccd camera, you will be delighted with the results. If you see a good one - go for it!

This has to be one of Sony's all time best. It's laoded with so many easy to use features. If you want to transfer your old 8mm tapes to computer & DVD, get this camcorder, it does it in a snap. Great Camcoder. I also have Sony's DCR-HC96.

Super camcorder/ does everything!

This is a superb camcorder. So many features, I still don't use them all. The best feature is the analog to digital conversion. Instead of paying big bucks to have somebody digitize all my old analog tapes, I just connect the Sony TRV320 to the VCR and presto! digital tapes. I haven't seen a modern camcorder with this feature. Like everybody says about the TRV320--they just don't make them like this anymore!!

Just purchased my second one of these. My original unit still works but, after eight years, is starting to have some issues with the top pad and the power switch.

My first unit has not been a closet queen either, having spent many a mile bouncing around the back country of Death Valley National Park. Whether duct taped to the T-top of my Subaru Brat, attached to the bumper of my S-10 Blazer or under 30 pounds of crap in my backpack. And it never failed me. NOT ONCE!

The original battery was a little small for my usage, so I purchased a larger capacity one. Works great, last long time.

I purchased my second one, mainly, for parts. It was listed as such and I had no other expectations of it. Once I swap out the parts I need from my "parts" unit I plan to use it to record table top reviews for youtube. Yes, it works! DV output works great and I don't need it to record as I can do that with my computer via firewire input.

When received, it had a tape stuck in it which turned out to be from inside several Georgia State LEO vehicles and has plenty of pursuit footage! WOO HOO! BONUS!

I'm still in the market for a back-up unit for my DVNP trips and local backpacking trips. It "might" be considered by some to be "too heavy" or "outdated". But, after eight years of abuse for my first one, those are not issues for me.
