Sony Handycam DCR-TRV340 Camcorder - Silver

The main facts to buy this camcorder:
The well known reputation of Sony's video cameras in the Analog & Digital 8- HI8 mm video formats that allows to bridge the signals & pass them trh/ dvd recorders & PC's like windows or Apple OS.
Wanting to get all our family video memories recorded in analog 8 & Hi 8 mm signal since 1992 into the new Digital format as DVD or hard drive storage, & preserve these, since the life of the tape is in average 10 years, our tapes has been keep in great storage condition, beating all the technical odds, found some started to lost image quality due to the well know deterioration of the (Fe) particles. opted for the DCR-TRV340 Handycam as my best choice for this family's project. I owned 2 sharp cameras (sold) and got 1 sony CCD-TRV65 back in 1996 still w/us like brand new performing beautify ever since, the only downside is, doesn't have USB & Firewire capability in order to convert to digital ('cause that technology wasn't available yet to the standard market, back in those years)
Looking for a great camera, of course I'll enjoy it upgrading from my old loved CCD-TRV65 this Sony DCR-TRV340 marketed around 2002-03
Finally from all the SONY digital models in 8 mm format, this model DCR-TRV-340 is one of the most popular even compared w/ others more sophisticated launched in 2004-05-06 (don't like the Mini DVD disc format)
It's in just excellent cosmetic & electro mechanically condition, felt that I found a great upgrade in a excellent deal, here in E-bay $150.00 + $8.50 s&h. The brief tests done the DCR-TRV340 are performing w/out any glitches, is loaded w/ many features. The downsides are the small resolution of the pictures & the MPG Video Movie clips captured thr/ the Memory Stick card, due to the limited CCD & other technical facts. Got a Belkin 6-4 pin FireWire cable,hooked the DCR-TRV340 to my APPLE Mac G5 w/ the I-Movie program &... fantastic !! got the movie on the screen w/ full access to all the features available on the Control Panel to play w/ sound, add music, store it to hard drive, burn a DVD or create U. own Movie w/a more professional look, applying simple to follow or sophisticated editing features steps, according w/ type of software used, as Final Cut Express I-Movie, Adobe. Want to mention the outstanding quality of the video, of the Sony DCR-TRV340 is really amazing, even compared w/newest models that claim to have today's technology, fell behind.
So, my E-bay's friends No Doubts at all, the SONY DCR-TRV340 is a great Selection.

I have owned this camcorder since 2002 and it has done an outstanding job for our family. All controls are within easy reach of your fingers and are intuitively operated...Recording movies is easy, cycling through film presets is a breeze, pictures are great especially with the 700x zoom...I mean I have used the 700x zoom while mountain hiking and was able to zoom up to the blue veins in the glaciers...just fantastic...transferring to a computer couldn't be easier, I'll bet I have over 100 DVDs of family events and memories...if the chance presents itself for you to buy a beautiful, fully functional camera like this one...DON'T HESITATE!!!

Sony did an outstanding job with the design and function with this one.

This camera is the best camcorder ever! It has everything! I wish Sony would not have stopped making this model! Ebay is the only place to get one now!

Brought this video camera to convert analog 8mm tape to digital for storage in computer. Haven't done it yet, but camera appears to function properly and is in great condition for the model. Whats not good about it? 2.5" LCD Night Vison! Digital Camera! all pros no cons here. Better then excellent, sony out did them selves with this.
