Sony PFM-42B1 42" Plasma Television

In a way, after getting one from a friend, i have done the research on the plasma and have found that if you have it set up in curtain ways for viewing, then it is a great plasma to have around. These plasma's are designed to be put in public display areas like coffee shops or airports.
This model can also be used in the setup of a great movie monitor only if you know on how to do all the memory, zoning, contrast, and brightness settings for better aspect ratio on getting it to do 720p picture quality. and to me, that is a very clean picture on watching movie on.
do have some issues that I disagree with on my plasma,
1.) noisy fans on the back, need to install quieter fans to help with that.
2.) after keeping it on for a little while, it does heat up a small space very fast, positive to that is if it is wintertime and you don't have a personal heater, you can watch a movie and the plasma will heat up the room for you!
3.) here and there(rarely), the plasma will make the picture go negative, i don't know why, but to fix this, just unplug it and plug it back in. works for me!

Overall to what i think, i like it a lot do to it being given to me instead of purchasing it from some where else!

THE TV WORKS GOOD. THE ANAOLOG PICTURE QUALITY IS POOR. THE S-VIDEO DIGITAL IS GREAT THE RESOLUTION LOOKS GOOD. THE ONLY BAD THING ON THIS UNIT IS THE AUDIO. THE UNIT HAS A 1/8" OUT AND YOU NEED A PAIR OF SELF POWERED SPEAKERS OR A RECEIVER TO AMPLIFY THE AUDIO.

Quality picture is not as Sony standard. Can be way better...
Fan is really noisy and disturbing... Poor Sony customer service.
