On the rough and tough spiritual road

Deepak Chopra seems blessed with a writing facility that few have possessed before him. I can scarcely turn around and he has another new novel on the market, popping up amongst half a dozen self-help books. Most of his settings contain elements from his own past - experience as a medical student, a psychiatric intern (if there is such a thing) and so on. This is one more remarkable tale about relationships - this time it is going places we all have a hard time dealing with, if we can focus on it at all. And that's one of his great strengths - he forces us to look into places we need to go, but are always holding back from. Sure it's scary - some would say even shocking. But this is life on the streets, in more ways than one, and I appreciate that coming from a so-called new-age guru who could be hiding away, comfortably protected in wads of cash, but isn't. As always (with his novels), this is a fast read. The story races along. Race along with it. There's something for you too.
