Product Information
When a comet almost collides with Earth, a posse of bizarre turkeys and evil aliens lands in South Park, and the four foul-mouthed grade-schoolers are, of course, going to have to rescue everyone. Switch back and forth between the characters with the touch of a button, as you use yellow snowballs, sponge-dart guns, toilet plungers, and more to squelch the strange attack and restore peace to the sleepy mountain town. With lots of levels and difficult bosses, the game's obvious strength is its creativity the enemies are all hysterical, and the game ends up being as funny as the show itself. Based on the hit cartoon, SOUTH PARK actually uses custom speech from stars Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Isaac Hayes to keep the faithful masses happy, and adds a creative storyline that falls right in line with what you'd expect from the show. The 3D animation is a definite update on the cartoon, but the animation is so good, you won't even blink at the difference. If haven't used a bazooka that shoots out cows in a videogame before, you haven't played SOUTH PARK.

Oh My God! They Killed The Fun!

Created: 24/03/08
As one of the most wildly popular shows during the N64 era, it was only a matter of time until the South Park boys ended up in their very own video game. As you play you can earn codes to unlock other prominent South Park citizens to choose from as you battle it out with an array of decidedly bizarre weapons. Available for your arsenal are, gas emitting Terrence & Philip dolls, a chicken egg launcher, a cow launcher, toilet plungers, homemade yellow snowballs, etc..

Two control schemes are offered: "To-Rock" (Turok style with c buttons for movement & analog stick looking) or "Brown-eye" (the reverse scheme patterned after Goldeneye 007). I recommend "To-Rock" as the Goldeneye style seems to be less precise (and neither one is especially accurate).

Those of you with an expansion pak can try out the "Hi-Rez" modes, but I found controls to be seriously hampered by lower frame-rates in these modes. Instead you may prefer to switch back to Low-Rez mode which provides smoother character movement & control.

Multi-player mode divides the screen up and lets you take on up to 3 other people in battle. The arenas are nothing spectacular, but at least provide some variation in that there are 17 of them to choose from. Liberal fog effects try to obscure the ol' N64's limited draw distance, but pop-up still abounds. It can be pretty fun in a "party" atmosphere to beat up on your friends with cow launchers and that weird "warp-o-ray" gun, but ultimately the action lacks long-term appeal. Story mode mixes things up a bit by throwing hordes of baddies at you on your mission to save the town, but it too gets repetitive before long.

In my opinion the N64's library was pretty hit or miss. Generally there were fantastic titles like Super Mario 64 that represented the best of the era & and awful titles like Superman 64 that never should have seen the light of day. South Park 64 is an unusual title in that it fits somewhere in the middle. It's by no means a "must-have", but is certainly very playable (generally in small doses). If you're a South Park fanatic who happens to own an N64, you might get some grins with this title. Otherwise this will probably just end up sitting at the end of your shelf keeping the other games from falling over.

South Park Nintendo 64

This is a very good game; the graphics are very similar (or perhaps even better) to those in the television show, the storyline follows the scripts, and the raunchy humor and catch phrases are all right there to enjoy. Gameplay is relatively easy and straightforward, and unlike so many other Nintendo 64 games, you actually have goals and levels. Many other 64 titles leave you with no clear objectives, and you simply wander around the surreal landscape wondering what the focal point of the game should be. There is none of that to be found in this game - in fact, you know exactly where you're going, what your objective is, and which path to take. Using the guide helps immensely, of course, but this is definitely a game you can navigate on your own - AND have fun doing so! The only thing lacking in this game is new scenery and variety in the characters' language. Eric Cartman runs around saying the same thing every few minutes, and the scenary is pretty much a repetitive and recurring backdrop of the town (much like in the cartoon). Other than that, this is a fun game for more mature audiences to play, and gives you a break from the pointless and aimless wanderings which are inherent in so many of the other Nintendo 64 titles.

South Park (Nintendo 64)

I bought this game because I love South Park. I didn't even know there was a South Park game for N64 until just days before I bought it. I am happy to report that I love this game. As you would guess, the game is based on the show.
The point of the game is to save the town from evil turkeys, aliens, clones, cows, and more! Weapons include dart guns, toylet plunger launchers, snow balls, yellow snow balls, dodge balls, Tarrance and Philup fart dolls, lasers, and more.
In multi-player mode you can battle your friends.
This is a great game!
If you get it, you won't be disappointed.

pretty fun game!

You can play as Stan, Kyle, Kenny, or Cartman in story mode. Make your way through the snowy Colorado terrain fighting evil turkeys, mutated clones of South Park residents, Aliens, mind-altered cows, and all sorts of other enemies. I've only been playing the game for 1 day, i've only gotten to level 3 and im already having fun. Some of your weapons include snowballs, yellow snowballs (haha...piss), dodgeballs, nerf machine guns, toilet plunger guns, and terrance and phillip farting toys. Sometimes you can also switch characters during gameplay, which is pretty cool. In every level i've been in so far you end up meeting up with Chef and he explains a little bit about what your objective is for the level. I've also unlocked a few extra characters for multiplayer so far. If you are a die-hard SP fan, chances are you'll love this game!
