The EXILE ON MAIN STREET references were still intact, but the predominant swagger and sashay had been abandoned in favour of a soulful interpretation of their roots, rather than a parody of their influences. Chris Robinson's Jagger pastiche was replaced by a more gutsy, honest strut, while brother Rich plays with an aplomb and spirit that struck darkly at the heart of their songs. A very grown-up record indeed.

2nd release on par with the debut

    Created: 16/07/09
I like the debut release just only slightly more than this 2nd studio cd from the band. I tend to really enjoy the raw nature of a band's initial (first) offering, but "Southern Harmony" also gives you the exact same feel and style as the first "Shake Your Money Maker". This is an excellent cd, there is not a bad song on here. It is a hard rockin' electric-styled blue that is laden with outstanding guitar work, great percussion and vocals and lyrics that are the bands trademark style. If you like rock music then you'll probably really enjoy this cd.

Second album and 2nd best by the Crowes. On this album The Crowes adopt a more Rock & Roll trail with a touches of the south. Songs like "Remedy", "Sometimes Salvation", "Black Moon Creeping" worth the album alone, but all of the tracks are excellent.

Bye bye glam metal, hello Southern rock

    Created: 09/04/11
After the glam-ish production polish of Shake Your Money Maker, came this album, their best up to this date, that set the blueprint for the rest of the albums they made in the years to come. By now it has become a true rock classic, that has not faded away in any way. Other albums they produced are also very very good but this is their strongest, really.

    You should buy this one!!!!!
Of course, I am predictable and love the song "Remedy" but this entire album is actually really great. The Crows sound really good together on this album and I like it.

    Awesome guitar work

The Black Crowes are always good, but in this album they really are totally in sync. The vocals and guitars blend together perfectly. A must have for any Black Crowes fan.
