The Buddies, Buddha (Field Cate), Rosebud (Liliana Mumy), Budderball (Josh Flitter), B-Dawg (Skyler Gisondo), and Mudbud (Henry Hodges), are the puppies of Buddy (Tom Everett Scott) and Molly (Molly Shannon).
They’ve been adopted out to kids who have personalities that reflect their own. Buddha’s boy is going on a field trip to see Vision Enterprise’s new space shuttle, which is bound for the moon. Of course, the Buddies tag along for the ride. The shuttle has been designed by Pi (Bill Fagerbakke), a mousy scientist with a pet ferret named Gravity (Amy Sedaris).
His rival Dr. Finkel (Kevin Weisman) knows that if the launch goes awry that he’ll be able to take over the project. Since Pi is a pet lover he’s designed this space adventure to be for the whole family, including pets. So the Buddies find themselves in their own dog-sized space suits and wandering around the complex… and right onto the shuttle. They’re launched into space and zero gravity.
Dr. Finkel has programmed the computer to make it seem like it the shuttle’s fuel tanks were fully filled when one tank wasn’t filled. Mission control now has ten hours till the tank is empty to figure out how to refuel the tank and not abort the mission (allowing Finkel to take over). His flight crew, Slats (Lochlyn Munro) and Astro (Ali Hillis), find out an old Russian space station is still in space and manned by the nutty Yuri (Diedrich Bader) and his dog Spudnick (Jason Earles).
Yuri is content to stay in space, but Spudnick misses his boy back on Earth. When the Buddies arrive they try and help Spudnick get back to planet Earth, but Yuri thinks that he’s been given five new companions to keep him company on the space station.

I have got to say ONE In A Million! TWO Thumbs Up!! THREE Cheers!!! FOUR Aces!!!! FIVE Stars!!!!! Space buddies has become my 5 year old daughter’s favorite movie. Those Adorable Golden Retriever puppies Rosebud, Buddha, Budderball, B-Dawg, and Mudbud are so cute, and not-too-scary space travel as they get lost in space when they stow away on some sort of CGI Space Shuttle. It is a wonderful adventure through space with a nice message about family and teamwork.

This was another excellent Disney Movie. I would recommend this dvd for anyone of any age as it is a great deversion from what is typically sold as entertainment. It is especially entertaining for people who like dogs. Like all Disney classics the film has the usual villian who gets caught. I found myself cheering for the puppies and empathizing for the children when their dogs went missing (as they were on the space trip). The trainers and producers did a fantastic job as the puppy actors performed better than most human actors. It was a great movie and I plan on purchasing more in this series. Both Thumbs Up on this one.

This is an awesome movie for kids! Mom enjoyed it too! If you have enjoyed any of the Air Bud movies, you will surely enjoy this movie just as much or more. The puppies bring a fun space adventure. They mistakenly find their way into the space ship and get launched to the moon. A few close calls but in the end the puppies make it home to their owners and bring a new puppy home to his owner. Lots of fun!

I watched this movie with my son and he loves all of the Air Bud movies. I enjoyed this movie it was very cute but I was disappointed that the children were not the same. I loved how the children from Air Buddies that got the puppies in the end, were the same kids in Snow Buddies. So I was disappointed that they did not bring the same children back. They were the same characters with similar looks as the original kids but they were not. It also looked like the dogs were different and my son noticed that to. The story line was good, to me the original is always the best. My son loves that the dogs go into space and every time he sees a space ship he says "AIR BUD!" We now have 4 movies Air Bud, Air Buddies, Snow Buddies, and now Space Buddies.
