Movie synopsis
Created by former marine biologist Stephen Hillenburg, Nickelodeon's hugely popular cartoon series SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS chronicles the wacky adventures of an overly enthusiastic sea sponge and his oceanic pals in the underwater town of Bikini Bottom. Living in a pineapple home with his meowing, catlike pet snail, Gary, the fry-cook sponge (inimitably voiced by Tom Kenny) happily flips Krabby Patties at a fast food restaurant owned by the moneygrubbing Mr. Krabs (Clancy Brown)--that is, when he's not engaging in nautical nonsense with his dimwitted starfish friend, Patrick (Bill Fagerbakke); annoying his tentacled and perennially grouchy neighbor and coworker, Squidward (Rodger Bumpass), or visiting the displaced Texan squirrel, Sandy Cheeks (Carolyn Lawrence), or fending off the megalomaniac plans of the evil protozoan, Plankton (Doug Lawrence). Employing a vibrantly colorful animation style that bears the distinct influence of REN & STIMPY, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS has become a veritable pop-culture phenomenon that appeals to children and adults alike with its wholesome, yet slyly subversive, brand of goofy humor (as well as an impossibly catchy theme song). This collection continues the adventures of the absorbent, yellow, and porous one with the first half of the series' fifth season.

ROLLER COWARDS!! LOVE IT!
BREATH OF FRESH SQUIDWARD!!! I am a SB ADDICT and can't pick just one episode as my all-time favorite but this episode would be one of top 2 or 3. No matter how many times I see this episode, the opening scene ALWAYS has me laughing OUT LOUD!! Squidward wakes up to the sound of SB and Patrick sitting in chairs waiting to watch the sunrise with the sleeping Squidward. FUNNIEST part is when SB pulls out the photo album of all the holidays they spent with the sleeping Squidward... Easter and sleeping Squiward with bunny ears... Valentines with lipstick kisses all over the sleeping squidward's face. Squidward blows up and installs an electric fence but not before setting up a "picnic" for patrick and SB on a catapult. AWESOME!
TO love a parry - Spongebob falls in love with a perfect krabby patty!'

SLIMY DANCING! Another TOP PICK EPISODE where Squiward hides in SB's body to enter dance contest! Great one!
KRUSTY SPONGE!! Nuff said, any SB fan knows this GREAT EPISODE!!
SING A SONG OF PATRICK!!! LOVE IT! Also one of the best episodes ever? What's that smell? Oh, is patrick thinking again?? Hilarious!!
ALL OF THE EPISODES ABOVE ARE ON DISC 2 from this set.
DISC 1 is pretty good, but of all the individual SB DVD's, Season 5 Disc 2 is one of the all-time best.
Other set Volume 2 is OK and a must for a complete SB collection but this one, Volume 1 is really great

Spongebob Squarepants

I bought the spongebob squarepants season 5 vol 1 dvd a few weeks ago. I got it for my son who is two years old, and already a fan of the show. This dvd is real great. It has a bunch of episodes and no commercials. It keeps my son entertained just long enough so that I can get things I need done. Plus I like the show as well. I'd deffinetly recommend this dvd to any parent for their kids.

) My daughter loves Sponge Bob. This 2 disc DVD set is great! It keeps her occupied while I am working on my homework assignments. That is exactly what I intended for it to do!!!!

) I bought it because my children love SpongeBob. I love it too because it has some adult humor as well. I put it on for my children when I want some time to do housework and it keeps them entertained until the end. I give it 5 stars!
