I like this game because my children really like everything that has to do with dragons. I bought this game because the price was right and we did no have this one yet.
The main thing I dislike about it it has too much 3D so I cannot play it with my children because I get sick.

Spyro Games are Great

Created: 08/02/08
I generally love this entire franchise of games. The game itself is so simple even small children can enjoy it and have a great time. The concept of unlimited lives allows a degree of freedom when trying to experiment with how to solve puzzles. Therein lies the greatness of the game.

For an adult, finishing the game to 100% completion requires skill and patience. The trickiness never gets to the point where it is frustrating - as the game is basically easy - and thus one never tires of playing. Unlike some other games.

The goal of the game is to collect/rescue all the baby dragonflies through 8-10 levels. This goal is easy enough to accomplish, but when paired with trying to collect all the lost treasure in the entire game and completing the myriad side games, the 100% completion goal seems daunting at the beginning.

I really do love this series of games and I would recommend it to anyone.

Great game - my daughter loves it. She bought the memory and controller she needed to play it on her Wii, so we will probably purchase more games like this one.

Spyro = Awesome

Created: 30/03/07
This game has a great story of a kid friendly dragon who defeats the bad guys. Spyro is played in a 3D world and offers a variety of tasks that range from easy to figure out to a little more challenging. Also included in this game are mini-type games such as flying from rock to rock through the sparkling ordered rings, sliding down slippery slopes in a race and many others. I enjoyed this game very much and my daughter loved to watch me play (playing along with her own remote control.)

If you like Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, or other games like these you will love this game!

A die-hard fan's review: "Excellent, with fixed bugs!!"

Created: 06/04/10
This is my 10-yr old daughter's review:

"Pros: Great graphics for GameCube, decent to good soundtrack, lasts a while with value, a little like the classics, good gameplay, major bugs such as collision problems aren't as much here, glitches aren't as constant | Cons: Annoying dragonflies, dull storyline, sacrifices graphics from PS2 version

I will tell you what kind of gamer I am so you understand my judgment-

I am a die-hard Spyro fan (I have so many collectables it’s not funny); I am mostly into action, adventure, RPG and strategy games; I finish medium difficulty games in usually a week (Then, add on collectables and bonuses, I usually complete games entirely); and I am an XBox 360 achievement LOVER… boy, can’t go past those.

Now! Spyro The Dragon made the beginning of his debuts in 1998. The titles that came after Spyro’s first game, Gateway to Glimmer (Better known as Ripto’s Rage) and Year of The Dragon, were huge successes. After Year of The Dragon, Season of Ice was released. Beyond that were Season of Flame and Enter the Dragonfly- and the REAL review starts here...

Storyline... same as PS2 version. Dull, uninteresting, and very much like Year of The Dragon. But since bugs are fixed it's now bearable.

Graphics had to be lowered from PS2 because the GameCube didn't have the power for better graphics. Not a big deal, because the graphics still look great. It's only a little less clearer, nothing beyond that I can see.

Soundtracks are good but again, some parts I didn't like.

So overall buy this over the PS2 one if graphics don't bother you and you don't want as many glitches."
