Better Than I Expected-Illustrates the Best Part of TNG

Created: 13/09/08
I was excited to see the 1st Star Trek movie that focused on "The Next Generation." I was NOT happy that 'Kirk' had to be in this one, too (geeeze). I like the original series, but TNG, at that time, was my favorite. As it turned out, the crossover was a great idea. I especially liked the scenes in the Nexus, which focused more on the characters themselves. After several viewings, I do get a little bored with 'Mr. Scientist', but the interrelationships among the Next Generation crew never disappoint. I have seen this movie many times, and I never get tired of it.

Star Trek: Generations (DVD, 2004, 2-Disc Set, SCE WS)

Created: 09/01/10
I grew up watching the original TV series and enjoyed watching the original crew of the NCC-1701 evolve and transform (thanks to computer graphics and special XF). This movie is the "Changing of the Guard" where two Captains of the Starship Enterprise are brought together to stop a common foe. It was a shame that not all of the members of the original crew under the command of Captain Kirk were in this movie, I guess it's for the best. The most exciting, realistic and unbelievable part was the destruction of the NCC-1701D.

Star Trek:Generations Goes On

Created: 06/07/08
When the Orignal Star Trek aired on TV in October of 1966 I was a senior in High School. Still I had no idea of what I wanted to be. Because Star Trek pictured women as equal to men with a hint of even leading men I thought I wanted to be an Astronomer. But my dad thought otherwise. My dad was a college electronics instructor. He pointed out that Astronomers used mathematics in their work. My math was terrible.I should go to college to be a sociologist. How terrible! We agreed that could go to college to become a writer. After 3 years Star Trek ended. I had my Associate of Arts degree in Literature.Got married and moved to Toledo, Ohio. I had a little girl when Star Trek the Next Generation begin it's 7 year run on TV. Up to this time I had not forgotten the orginal Star Trek. I bought nearly all the books that came out and watched all the movies on the orange Star Trek. It was Star Trek the Next Generation that put purpose into my life. With Gordie being blind, Data being an Android, and Deanna Troi being and empath pointed out that thre were people out there that needed help. After my daughter was grown and moved out of the house, I made plans to go back to school to be a psychologist just like Deanna Troi. To put the finning touches on my plans, Star Trek: Generations came out in 1995. The movie really put thoughts on how far people should go to help other people in need even to losing their lives and the ship. You cann't stay in your dream world because life changes all the time and moves on. It's up to us if we help out doing the best we can or rest on what other people think we should be.

The Meeting Of the Two Captains....

Created: 13/05/07
The Meeting Of the Two Captains.... is what brought me to see this at the Big Screen.

Renting this DVD didn't bring the excitement of that first time, but this is one of the better ST movies in the franchise.

Recommended for either fans of ST:OS or ST:NG fans!
