    Movie synopsis

In STAR TREK VI - THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY, the cold war between the Federation and the Klingons thaws out when the leader of the crumbling alien empire makes a peace offering. Admiral Kirk (Willliam Shatner) and the crew are quickly sent to escort the Klingon ruler to treaty talks, but they unknowingly stumble into the middle of a political assassination--and soon Kirk and Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelley) are framed for the dignitary's murder. Sent off to a frozen gulag planet, the two plot their escape while Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and the rest of the old gang try to find out who the real killer is. The future of the intergalactic peace movement depends on their success.

The Undiscovered Country and last Original Cast Movie

    Created: 11/08/09
Wow, much more enjoyable than the 5th one!

This story is about prejudices between the human race and the Klingons as they are attempting to work toward peace. An attack happens that stinks of a frame-job and much of the movie is spent on the whodunit mystery.

Shatner and Nemoy as well as the rest of the crew of the Enterprise do an excellent job reprising their roles. George Takei's character has been promoted to Captain of his own ship and he makes an effort to aid when he can. Shatner is beginning to falter a little in his line delivery. I could not stop laughing in the first scene at how premeditated everything he said was and how it came out like a shot! Still, you can't deny his charisma and the ladies can't stay away.

The Cold War overtones are very strong and one character quotes Shakespeare often to heighten drama. The effects are very good and it holds up well in 2009 in that respect. The tension and action keep you on the edge of your seat. The resolution had a bit of corniness (watch for the well known finale - THE SLOW CLAP!) but overall a great movie. And why shouldn't it be? It was directed by Nicholas Meyer, the same director of Wrath of Khan, arguably the best Star Trek movie. Also Leonard Nemoy had a hand in writing with the story so it's near and dear to his heart.

It is with a heavy heart that this movie ends as the cast literally signs off with their signatures in the credits. We miss this crew who have spent six movies and a long television career entertaining us, exciting us, and teaching us.

Star Trek Six The Undiscovered Country

This film was the last to feature the "original" ST crew from the 60's. I remember seeing this in the theater, and thinking "This is it." I grew up with this ST crew, so this movie is near and dear to my heart. The humor, the action, the Klingons, all make it worth while. You gotta' love the purple blood! And Spock making Kim Catrall moan is a scene! The way that this movie and it's settings are refrenced in future Trek projects makes it even more memorable. A must see for any ST fan!

    Good Outing...

    Created: 03/05/07
Good Outing... for the cast of the original TV series.

Has a lot of emphasis on the Klingons in this movie, which was ok by me as I attend the Klingon rituals at the SDCC every so often to see what that culture is all about!

    Recommended for Star Trek fans!

    Trekkies will love this one

    Created: 24/01/10
I have the whole set of Star Trek movies, but for some reason the Undiscovered Country pixeled for about 10 minutes, and that was bad. So, I went onto e-bay and bought just this one movie, now I am a happy Trekkie.

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country DVD collect edi.

    Created: 07/07/09
I am not a big fan of William Shatner, but it was still a great movie. The story line was great and it had a lot of the elements that makes a great Star Trek Movie. There were a lot of funny parts as well as a few twists I didn't expect. All in all it is a great movie.
