Star Wars Battlefront II (PC, 2005)

Battlefront II is a very fun, interactive game that has dozens of new features and improvements over Battlefront I. Some are:

Better Bot AI: If you have played Battlefront I, you realize that if a shot goes near a bot, it rolls, crouches, and fires at you, or misses completely. In Battlefront II, the bots are harder, more intelligent, and will actually aim in the right direction.

Heroes: In Battlefront I, the Heroes (Jedi) just sit there killing people. In Battlefront II, you can be the hero. You get to use force powers, lightsabers, and blasters, in the case of Han Solo and Princess Leia. The weapons are more powerful on heroes than normal troops.

New Classes: In addition to Battlefront I's classes, better troops can be earned through point scoring (kills). Some include droidikas, MagnaGuards, and Bothan Spys.

In some areas, Battlefront I is better than Battlefront II such as:

Maps- Cloud City is gone, as is Platforms.

Stability- Battlefront I crashes are rarer. (I have had no problems with BF2, but there have been reports of crashes to desktop.)

Overall, Battlefront II improves over Battlefront I in many ways, and is a ton of fun!

The Star Wars Battlefronts II pc game is a really fun for the Star Wars lover. My boys who are preteen ages, 10 and 12, love to play this game. They became interested in this game because they love Star Wars. So far we have purchased two other copies of this game so they can play online with their friends, each from their own home. The game is discontinued so it is hard or impossible to find in any store. I got a great gift and great deal on eBay. I like that my boys are learning to use the computer and learning to type, for they talk to their friends through typing. It is a fun way for boys to visit and interact with their friends. I try to be careful of violent games, and this has an acceptable level of violence for me. I know boys enjoy all this action and adventure. I promote excercise, real life sports and in person interaction with friends. I must admit that it is often nice to have them play with their lightsabers online, and less stressful and safer for them to have virtual lightsaber battles then real life ones in our home. As long as the game and all games are played in moderation, I think it is a good game for boys and men.

I was motivated to purchase Battlefront II (BF2) for two reasons:
-BF1 was one of my favorite FPS entries ever on the PC
-The chance to mingle an awesome FPS experience with well balanced JEDI action!

And to date I have not been disappointed. The main game is just as fun and playable as I remember from the first with all the benefits I wished for when playing the first game.

Additional bonuses include much more involved space battles (not just run 'n gun anymore). One can get into ones ship, fly into an enemy flagship and sabotage from the inside out! Or not. If that's not your cup of tea, you can always just shoot up fighter craft or attempt to blow up the bridge, or any number of other strategic targets along the way.

This game takes the best parts of all previous Star Wars games and then adds some of its own.

You have complete freedom. This is the only game I have ever played that lets you move around in a capital ship, make your way to the flight deck, take off in a small craft, disable enemy capital ships, land in the enemy's flight deck, leave your small craft and do battle within the enemy's capital ship--all with no load screens!

There are space missions, planetary missions--you can be a clone, a fighter pilot, a jedi--or anywhere in between.

battlefront 2 has been if not the 1# star wars game of the century next battlefront the controls are easy and the levels are big so you can explore you have the choice of rebels, clones, CIS, and so much more. Also theres multiplayer online so that you can fight or become friends at a battle this is a great semi-appriate game for young first person shooters. In space there are vehicles, missions, and instant action ("Free" war) freeplay
