Product description

Product Information
The game design of the Game Boy Color edition of Star Wars Episode I: Racer is loosely based on the Nintendo 64 version. The game still takes place over multiple planets in the Star Wars universe -- the deserts of Tatooine, the ice tracks of Ando Prime, and swamps of Baroonda. You take control of Anakin and try and defeat your "rival" on each of the game's tracks. When you come in first on any track, you can take control of that track's "rival" alien and his pod racer -- and each alien's Pod Racer controls and drives differently. The controls are of the simple Accelerate, Brake, Left Turn, Right Turn nature -- but like the N64 version of the game, you can activate an Engine Boost when your speed reaches a certain peak. But it's only for temporary use, and will cause damage to your engines if you leave it on for longer than a few seconds.

Disappointing review of Star Wars Episode I:Racer

    Created: 23/04/09
This game starts off with a wide choice of Star Wars players for you to choose to play, with choices like Anakin Skywalker, Gasgano, Aldar Beedo and more. You then get to choose the planet you play on to race. Once your rival is chosen for you, the race starts and your off!
It all sounds very exciting until the game begins and that was where my disappointment also began. I was shocked at the lack or better yet, non-existence, of graphic design and picture. You see the same boring and drab in color scribble and I use that word loosely, as you race.
The lack of detail in this game is something I would expect from a game you'd play in the 80's. So to see it on a Star Wars game, was disappointing to me and to my 6 and 8 year old sons, who don't care much for playing this game.
There isn't enough graphic detail, creativity, attention grabbing use of color, to hold their interest or desire for them to play this game and so it's been moved to the back of the back with the rest of the uninterested games we've gathered.
I DO NOT recommend this game. I HIGHLY recommend the seller of this game, who is fast, efficient and courteous, but not this particular game itself. I suggest trying to find a different Star Wars game, because there are good ones out there, but this is not one of them.

pretty basic game,it ain't something to dip your college money into, though
but if you have pleny of bucks to needlessly waste on something, this game isn't too bad of a choice
