PC version is way better!

They had the right idea, but screwed it up big time on the Xbox version! You will die for the most ridiculous reasons involving glitches and nearly impossible AI. The game was good at first, but it really got bad as the story went on! I have many complaints about this game.
I can play Tony Hawks Underground on the original Xbox and have WAY more character customization than Jedi Academy. The Tony Hawk game lets me adjust character to look a lot like me. Jedi Academy only lets you choose from 4 different races, 3 different heads, and a few clothes designs. When the game says "design your own character" they were stretching it from the truth. I hate games that stretch the truth to make you buy the game.
They did an okay job with the lightsabers, but WHY wont they let you choose a red lightsaber? Even when you join the Darkside, you still get no red lightsaber. The way I see it, lightsaber color does not always determine what side you are on. What if there was just a Jedi who's favorite color is red? The lightsaber hilts are creative and interesting, but they just left out one very important color!
If you get the PC version of the game, you can download mods and little things to change the gameplay. I have downloaded red lightsabers, different hilts, different characters, more customizing features, and funny mods. It's pretty sad how fans can turn the same game better and more interesting than the game editors plan.
Fumbling through the force powers while fighting is a HUGE pain! On the PC version, I can just scroll through the list with the mouse or use hotkeys like F1, F2, F3, F4, etc. You will be sitting there fumbling your thumbs to counter a Sith using Force Choke and Force Drain. By the time you actually switch to Force Push or Force Absorb, YOU ARE ALREADY DEAD! So, while you are choking to death, you have to push different buttons to scroll, choose the right force power, and hit the Force power button. THAT IS WAY TOO MUCH TIME IN A JEDI/SITH FIGHT!
This game ticked me off so much that I chopped the CD in half with a axe! I kind of had my Angry Video Game Nerd moment there! xD
I can go on and on about the horrible controls and gameplay, but you get the idea. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNLESS IT IS FOR THE PC!

Fine tune for 5/5

The product was a good buy. As far as it being an Xbox game, and a hard one to locate at that, it came in good shape and played like new. As a product, or review of the game in this situation, it is not your normal hack and slash type of game where as it actually takes some skill and thought on your attack and defense when entering a saber battle, but also at a fast pace. A saber battle can be very quick or epic depending on when you lay a fatal blow or not. The fighting engine alone makes the game very enjoyable and gives it a high replayability rather then a one time play and off to gamestop to sell it back.
Unlike KOTOR 1 and 2, the story is farely weak with not much options of controling the story and it is pretty limited on how you create a character, develope skills and saber. Fine tune the saber battleing style, better the story with a more epic adventure as in kotor's, add some detail and better graphics, you got yourself a 5/5 game, but still gets the 4/5 for easy and enjoyable play.

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (Xbox)

This game has a very good story line. YOu start out as Jaden Core, a Young man who created a lightsabor without ever having force trining or jedi training. You travel to Yavin where you will learn to control the force and your lightsabor better. You can pick you own force powers before each mission, you travel to over 15 different planets, and battle anywhere from dark jedi to stroom troopers to mutant rancors. There is also a good muti player, where you can system link with friends or play with bots in a large varity of levels and game types. The graphics are about a 7 out of 10, and the story line is about a 12 out of 10, and overall its a 8 and 1/2.
NOTE!!!!LOOK HERE!!!! THIS GAME IS NOT AS RARE AS THEY SAY!!! YOU CAN FIND THIS NUMBERS OF PLACES!!!!DO NOT SPEND MORE THEN $20 ON THIS GAME!!!! THIS GAME IS NOT RARE JUST NOT AS MANY COPIES AS HALO 2 OR KOTOR, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME FOR A HUNDRED DOLLARS AS ONE OF THE LISTINGS HERE HAS IT LISTED FOR!!! IT WORTH IS 17.99 AT EB GAMES AND 19.99 AT AMAZON, AND 15.99 AT YOU BLOCK BUSTER

Jedi Academy

A good follow up game to Jedi Outcast. Liked being able to fight with / against Kyle and also to use more than one kind of saber ( the pair works like scissors to chop enemies into fish food -- especially when you go into force speed and just run around them and stab them in the back...dark force talking) I played on Padawan level first, to get used to the controls, then retried on Jedi level, much more challenging. Only wish I could have used this with a joy stick, but the Xbox 360 doesn't support that attachment for this game. Still, it did look fine and was fun for many hours!

I bought this game after I played KOTOR because I thought it was a RPG but it's more like a action/adventure game. But there's another reason I bought this game and thats because I heard you got to kind'a make your caracter in the beginning of the game.but enough of that when you play this game the grafics are okay and you start out good but when you get near the end is the best because you have a choice to continue being good or have some more fun and kill rosh and make your path to the dark side!
