A Great Classic

X-Wing Colletor's Series is one of those games, you would like to return! The Collector's CD is second edition of this game (from 1994) with inclued improved graphic (game enigine from TIE Fighter) and full speeches durning mission briefing. In this edition you can also find both add on's of the game such is "Imperial Pursuit" and "B-Wing". Moreover 6 brand new missions were added to game and new much easy versions of difficult missions from original '93 release. This version inclouding the famous iMUSE music system with was missing in 1997 "Collector's Series" release. In my opinion this version of X-Wing game is the best, because it's improved version of orginal FDD release, but not that new like '97 edition (X-Wing vs TIE-Fighter engine + CD music).

Star Wars: X-Wing (PC games)
Created: 14/12/09
Star Wars: X-Wing is the first LucasArts DOS computer game set in the Star Wars universe, as well as the lead title in the X-Wing computer game series. It simulates the experience of combat in the A-wing, X-wing, and Y-wing starfighters of the Rebel Alliance. X-Wing was built on an evolution of the same game engine that underlay the Air Combat Classics series of World War II flight combat games, (Battlehawks 1942, Their Finest Hour: The Battle of Britain, and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe), that were developed by Lawrence Holland for Lucasfilm Games. X-Wing's main advance is that it features a fully 3-D engine for the flight combat simulation instead of the bitmaps and sprites of the earlier titles.

TIE Fighter Collectors Disc

This has always been one of my all time favorite games. I had to keep an old computer around just to play it. But over time, it got lost in a move. I bought this game from the seller to hopefully run on windows vista. I put it in, installed it....and it works perfectly! I was really impressed on how simple it was to load and play, without having to put the disc in at all! My old version was prone to crash on startup, and I had to make a boot disc for it. This version is flawless. You just double click the icon on the desktop, and this game fires up immediately. I use a phillips control pad to play it with as well. Once I calibrated the stick from within the game, I had no problems whatsover with the controller. If anybody used to love this game, but feels disappointed on not being able to play it on a new system, buy this version from the seller. You won't be disappointed! Also I did recieve a personal email from the seller stating to contact them if any problem developed. That extra step meant very much to me, just knowing they would help me if I had trouble.

Star Wars: X-Wing (Collector's CD-ROM) (PC Games, 1994)

What do I love? I love that this takes me back! I know it's difficult to run older games on XP or Vista because of compatibility issues (8bit Soundblaster, anybody?), but for guys like me that haven't kept up with the changes in PC technology since 1992 that want to go back, this thing is totally badass. I've been playing it for nearly 2 weeks and it hasn't had a single problem, and all I know is that I have Vista. That's the extent of my computer knowledge, these days. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat, and the seller was even helpful in finding me a joystick that would be somewhat compatible with this archaic, yet amazing, game. "Stay on target..."
