The 13 tracks that comprise START FROM SKRATCH crackle with propulsive, guitar-driven energy and high-flown singalong hooks that won't quit. "Half Past Forever" is one such tune, as is the pogo-inducing "Doin' Time." The elements are familiar, but Better Luck Next Time doesn't aim to reinvent the wheel.
