How to Stay Alive in the Woods
Created: 10/12/09
A classic book on staying alive, some of the tips go all the way back to the first trekkers- the Hudson Bay trappers (17xx). The tips are practical considering they don't presume you have a lot of equipment with you. It's all about staying alive and not enjoying yourself in the woods!
Some of the chemical formulation are not available to my knowledge (ie: bug repellent)
One presumption is that you are of hardy, healthy stock, not exactly the norm of todays pampered generation.
I am past Scoutmaster and had seen a hardback version and so I wanted it for my library. Every book has a some thing to add to the overall knowledge, and there is not substitute for experience!

Beautifully written. A great read even if you prefer club med style vacations. Not for the squeamish. It's amazing to realize how much free food is out there. Our pampered lifestyles will soon be forgot when hunger itself opens a new world of culinary delights. Get a sharp stick and big rock. The time to hunt is when you aren't hungry.
