Steve Miller Band - Live From Chicago (DVD, 2008, 2-Disc Set, Plus Bonus CD)

Being a veteren fan of Steve Miller since 1973 and having seen Steve live three times over the 35 years since, this DVD and bonus CD is a must have for Steve's fans! Songs not only include the classic hits from the Seventies but also has blues' numbers indicating the roots of Steve's music. The last two times that I saw Steve in 1995 and 2005, he exhibited his love of the blues. The inclusion of Mercury Blues, Boom Papa Boom (which was totally new to me!), All Your Lovin(also new to me and not a Beatles' cover), and Crossroads made this very intriguing viewing if not everyone's cup of tea.

The excellent production value of this DVD really showcases the idea that Steve and the rest of the band are in fine voice and musicianship. Camera angles were plentiful and Steve is very personable on stage talking about his his start in music, his love of guitars, and origins of various songs.

The extra DVD of Steve touring his old haunts in Chicago is fascinating, "Well, it used to here!"

The bonus CD is a collection of 12 of the 20 DVD songs which will be handy to drive my family crazy with more Steve in my Car, which is not a Mercury!

Well I think The Steve Miller Band is great,I've alway's wanted to see them live,and I thought this would be a good chance to see them,and I was'nt disappointed! What a GREAT show! The DVD comes with a CD of the songs played live,Highly recommended!

"Abracadabra!" There is lots of magic in this concert, worth every penny! This DVD is a gem, if you are a Steve Miller fan you have come to the right review! If you are not you will be!
The sound and picture quality is great and Mr Miller's performance second to none. If you do not own a copy of this concert Live In Chicago purchase one before it goes out of print. This live concert has every song a true Miller fan would want.
Turn it up! kick back and enjoy! I guarantee you will be moving to the beat before long, the audience knows how it's done.

Off tune, drab, uninspired, sad to see a once great band not know when to quit. I am embarassed for them. So bad, it almost seems to be a joke. Save your money.

This is one of my favorite 'concert dvd's...filmed in hi-def and 7-1 stereo..suberb sight and sound. Been a 'Stevie Guitar Miller' fan for decades. Great to see the ol' boy get the tunes again..fit as a fiddle and accompanied by a first rate rockband. Included are some fresh new spins on his perennial favorites and a taste of some his improvisasional skills. This is a 'must have' dvd...sure to please.
