Foxboro Hot Tubs = Awesome CD!!!!!!
Created: 12/01/09
This is an awesome CD. As you may know, the Foxboro Hot Tubs is Green Day along with many of the musicians from their tour. The music is reminiscent of 1960's pop, except with a bit more of an edge both lyrically and musically. Vocals are compressed 60's style, too. Though this is a Green Day "outside" project, they didn't sacrifice quality in order to churn out just another CD. FBHT is a very talented group of musicians. The song writing is excellent, as well. Most reviews seem to highlight "Stop Drop and Roll" along with "Mother Mary" as hits from the recording. While the entire CD is very listenable (e.g. you won't find yourself skipping undesireable tracks), I find myself hitting repeat for "27th Ave Shuffle". Tres does a great drumming job on that one.
My recommendation: if you like 60's pop or Green Day, get this CD!!!!

As most Green Day fans know, Foxboro Hot Tubs is a side project that the boys came out with May 2008. They had already spent 2 years working on 21st Century Breakdown (which is an album more than worthy of being a follow-up to American Idiot), but took a respite to create an album that still has that Green Day feel (Billie Joe is unmistakable), but is more of a throw-back to some of the origins of rock-n-roll.
This was a project that had no pressure for them and they basically did it for fun and for their fans. The Tubbies scheduled very few performances in CA in small venues during the summer of 08, maintaining a low-key profile.
If you're a Green Day fan or if you like classic rock-n-roll (Elvis, Beatles) then you'll love this album. Technology is great, but Billie Joe loves vinyl records and the old-school feel. I had downloaded Stop Drop and Roll!!! from the Tubbies website last May, but just wanted this for my collection.

This is a great CD. The Green Day side project. Might be hard to find, but well worth the effort. Much better than their early Sweet Child music.

I absolutely love this record. It's classic garage rock and totally reminiscent of good old rock n roll. Green Day fan or not, the tunes are fun, poppy, or mellow.
