I think I would buy it again.
Not bad. Like most albums it has its ups and downs, but on the whole, pretty good. The high point for me was Sue Foley. Read more

Album Notes
Strike a Deep Chord: Blues Guitars for the Homeless benefits the homeless not only through donation of its profits, but also by shedding light on their everyday struggles, whether by singing from their perspective or commenting on the problem in the third person (usually the former). The music ranges from New Orleans swamp blues to raucous electric blues-rock to more traditional acoustic blues, which provides a nice variety even if the collection doesn't always hang together musically. However, the songs are united by the resilience and frequent humor of their characters, not to mention their common cause. ~ Steve Huey

Editorial Reviews
...by no means a depressing experience ....this collection's charitable goal is only one worthwhile reason to check it out...

Great little blues CD

Created: 02/02/09
I love this CD - I bought it as it has Dr John on it, one of my all time heros, and also Sue Foley who I've seen live too. I've been playing it constantly in the car since it arrived and enjoy it every time. Being a compilation, it has variety, whilst remaining very tradiationally bluesy. Great CD!
