Sugar Busters! Lifestyle

25 pounds in 7 weeks... that's my favorite part :)

My doctor is really the one I should thank for turning me on to Sugar Busters! He told me to get this book and follow it religiously, and his advice may have saved my life.

I went to his office 50+ pounds overweight and gaining, even though I worked out at the gym 3 times a week... And yet, there I was, with pre-hypertensive blood pressure and symptoms consistent with pre-diabetes, and plus my knees and feet were starting to hurt from carrying around all those pounds.

My doctor said it best... Americans don't have a "Fat Problem", we have a SUGAR Problem !!

We live in a culture where we tell school children and youth groups to "watch out for fat", and then send them out on the street to sell Candy Bars and Chocolate Covered Popcorn for "Fund-Raisers"... Have we lost our minds ??

We are SO addicted to Sugar, and it is slowly and silently killing us. Millions of Americans are developing diabetes (kids too !) and other health problems because of Too Much Sugar, and our already over-worked Health Care System is bearing the burden.

If you're looking for a "Diet", don't bother. Sugar Busters is not a fad; it is a different Lifestyle choice.

Atkins Diet and some others like it are really great too, and I have heard a lot of good things about Low-Carb Diets; some like the South Beach Diet also sell the food you have to eat along with the book... some of them are $$$$$$$$$$

I feel better, I look better, I still work out at the gym 3 times a week, and people at the office have started to notice that my clothes are getting a little baggy :-)

I can handle having to buy all new clothes... rather than die young and miserable from diabetes.

This book has helped save my life! I am now eating to live, as in to feel better. At 237.5 pounds and 5'5" I was obese, felt dizzy and not very good after eating, had hypoglycemic tendencies, and was becoming desparate to feel better. However, I did NOT want diet pills or stomach surgery as two family members had suggested I try. I have followed the "Sugar Busters" way of eathing for 3 weeks now and have enjoyed a weight loss of 10 1/4 pounds so far. I say enjoyed because I'm eating wonderful (healthy) foods while keeping my carbs and fats in check. Actually, I am using this book's guidelines along with the Weight Watcher Points system for my success. But I attribute my greatest weight loss success to the fact that I am no longer eating sugar and not craving it either! Also, I'm VERY careful to avoid foods with high glycemic indexes (foods which quickly turn to glucose sugar in the bloodstream) such as white potatoes, white rice and corn. I would encourage anyone with strong sugar cravings to read this book! It can help prolong your life naturally or at least keep diabetes at bay! My only dislike would be that the recipes didn't appeal to me but then I only bought the book for the medical information.

A LIFESTYLE CHANGE, I CAN LIVE WITH!

I WAS DIAGNOSED, AS BEING BORDERLINE DIABETIC. I WAS SUSPICIOUS THERE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM, BECAUSE I COULDN'T STOP GAINING WEIGHT. I CHANGED EATING HABITS, TRYING TO LOSE THOSE EXTRA POUNDS, ONLY TO KEEP GAINING. MY DOCTOR ORDERED A GLUCOSE TOLERANCE TEST, AND MY BLOOD SUGAR SPIKED OVER 200. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE, HE DIDN'T RECOMMEND MEDICATION, BUT INSTEAD DIRECTED ME, TO GET SUGAR BUSTERS, AND BEGIN TO APPLY THE PRINCIPLES THEREIN. I AM NOT TYPICALLY A READER, BUT THIS BOOK CAPTIVATED ME, AND I READ IT IN ONE DAY. I HAVE STARTED APPLYING THE PRACTICES TO MY OWN EATING HABITS! I HAVE LOST SOME WEIGHT, BUT THE BEST PART IS, I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER. MY ENERGY LEVEL IS GETTING HIGHER DAILY, AND I HAVE TO MAKE MYSELF GO TO BED AT NIGHT. THIS BOOK IS GREAT AND I GIVE IT AN A+++. IT ALLOWS YOU TO EAT REAL FOOD, AND TEACHES YOU WHAT TYPES OF FOODS SHOULDN'T BE EATEN WITH OTHERS.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS TO LOSE WEIGHT, OR REGAIN ENERGY, OR THOSE WHO JUST WANT TO HAVE A BETTER QUALITY, OF LIFE.

Sugar Busters

Sugar Busters was recommended by my chiropractor. I was very helpful to see the doctor’s insights into finding the glycemic index on foods. Many of the healthy things that I was eating had a high glycemic index which made my average blood sugar level go up regularly. I also found out that being on insulin to control my blood sugar also was making it harder for me to lose weight which has a direct affect on the amount of insulin I needed. It's like having a vicious circle that it's hard to break out of. I've already started to lose some weight as a result of following their recommended diet plan and have consequently also stated to reduce the amount of insulin I have to take. It is very helpful to learn more about what I can do to change my own health rather than depending so heavily on drugs to control it.

Good diet for those who like to eat!

This is a great diet that works and allows you to eat almost everything except sugar and white bread, potatoes, corn and rice. Skip through all the stuff that fills the book and get right to the food lists. I lost over 25 pounds on this diet and I am still trying to change my eating habits by avoiding all sugars, etc.
