Product Information
An exact port of the Famicom/NES classic game for the Game Boy Advance handheld system in commemoration of the 20th Anniversary legacy of the original Nintendo Famicom system (and the release of the Famicom Edition Game Boy Advance SP system).

The 2D platformer, designed by Nintendo's legendary figurehead Shigeru Miyamoto, still remains in our minds the most intuitive and addictive entry in the genre. The title stars "Jump Man" himself, Mario, along with his brother Luigi, and takes players through more than 30 colorful levels of varied theme and design, all of them packed with cute, stylized enemies like the goombas and a wide array of platforms and obstacles. Super Mario Bros. is the first major showpiece for Nintendo's heightened quality of gaming: full of depth, layered with tight control and remarkably clever level creation that spills with secrets and extras!

Game Special FeaturesSUPER MARIO BROTHERS̵7; graphics and sound have been updated considerably from the original game on the NES. The images haven̵7;t changed so the classic look and feel of the characters haven̵7;t changed except to become clearer and more colorful. The visuals have been minimized due to the restrictions of the small screen on the Game Boy Advance, but the definition of the graphics has not suffered. Players might find that screens can get crowed and it can become difficult to locate a character during a game play, but those kinds of limitations are overcome by practice and experience. The game experience is increased by a multitude of power-ups like Lakitu̵7;s Cloud and the Warp Whistle. The characters can choose different suits to wear like a Frog Suit. The game has eight intriguing worlds in the Mushroom Kingdom before the climax takes place at a castle surrounded by tanks and airships. While much of the game stays with the traditional characteristics the original game had, Nintendo gave the Game Boy Advance version an overhaul in graphics, sound, and added a few new features in the process.

Super Mario Game

Created: 01/08/08
We have this game for the super nintendo. So we play it alot. I bought this game so my mom could play it on her GBA. She takes it to her doctors appointments and plays while she waits. I saw many games like this one on ebay. But what I loved more was the price. I think I made a good purchase. Thank You.

Decent enough

Created: 24/02/11
Well, celebrating Mario's 20th anniversary as a console video game character, Nintendo has decided to kick off a series of re-releases of classic NES game, starting, of course, Super Mario Bros. Basically, this isn't a bad port. I think that personally the game itself is great. But unless you can't handle buying anything more than 3 years old, don't spend your money on this. A much better port of this was released 5 years earlier for the gameboy color called 'Super Mario Bros. Deluxe', which had the original, along with a versus mode, in which you and another Mario player could race through a level via link cable. It also had a 'challenge' mode in which you explore a level, rather than race to complete it. Its unlockables included a 1 player racing game in which you race Boo instead of another Mario player, along with a port of 'The Lost Levels', once you beat the 300000 point high score, along with a couple of fun little time wasters in the toy box. I guess this has turned into a review of SMBDX instead of this SMB, but heck; unless you're absolutely convinced that you can be entertained for days on end with a single 32-level 8-bit Mario game, find a copy of SMBDX for the Gameboy Color, it'll be cheaper and more for your money.

Nostalgic Video Game Heaven-Must own for old schoolers!

Created: 08/06/06
This game brings back nostalgic feelings when I first started playing my Nintendo. Super Mario Bros. brings back so many memories when I was a child. Plus it has some new features like sleep mode so you can pick up where you left off and it lets you save high scores to show off. It is the perfect gift for the old school gamer.

Unfortunately, The down side to this game can only be played on a small screen(On the Game Boy Advance, SP, Micro, or Nintendo DS) unless you have a Nintendo Gamecube and a Gamecube gameboy player. It can be a strain to the eyes if played for too long on a small screen. And if played on a Nintendo DS, The controls can feel a bit awkward, since this game was originally played with a controller with only a directional pad and two buttons right next to each other horizontally. The Nintendo DS has a directional pad and 4 buttons in a diamond form. you see what I mean?

Other than that, it perfectly catches the nostalgia of the old school gamer within myself. It's playing the game that got me playing video games in the first place, but now it's on a newer system where you don't always have blow into the cartridge in order for the game to work. This is a MUST OWN for old school gamers.

Classic Mario Bros. Goodness.

Created: 05/07/06
I bought this game because I used to play it all the time on my NES when I was little. This is the same exact game, except ported for your gameboy advance system. I played it for hours on end trying to beat it and such. This game is different from all the others--your character has momentum, so you can't just turn around mid jump. overall I think this is one of the harder Mario games, but it's still good.
