After several years of quiet in the studio, Santana is joined by his seasoned contemporary Eric Clapton and by such young luminaries as Lauryn Hill, Dave Matthews, Rob Thomas, and Fher (of famed Mexi-rockers Mana). As an album that caps a rock career spanning more than three decades, SUPERNATURAL is a testament to the stylistic breadth of Carlos' musical world, to his dynamic communicative abilities, and to the fact that rolling stones truly ...

There is an angel looking over my shoulder...

Created: 07/05/10
It is almost too easy to forget Carlos Santana because he doesn't sing. Clapton, Hendrix, Brother Duane leaned on Gregg's vocals). BUT his guitar does the talking, in a style that is so unique, so grand so blazing that it is Santana's voice. The highest mix of Latino frenzy and driving Rock & Roll momentum, Supernatural is his best album. I believe its his best because it is incredibly diverse and yet consistent in its musical quality. It is the joy of synergy, combining his passionate guitar with so many top performers. It is primarily Latino in culture and yet the lyrics are universal in their intent, seven inches from the mid day sun. Hot, Caliente, what ever, one of the best international rock celebrations in print. The passion of the late sixties R&R sung through the slick urban voice of the new millenia. Music that demands your body to move.

Supernatural - Santana/Carlos Santana (CD 1999)

Created: 09/02/07
Why I bought it: Well, first of all i love the sound of an electric guitar well played of course! Santana is a classic and in this album he express his style and feeling about music within different rythms. He is a great exponent.

What I like most about it: His magnificient performs without exagerating in all the songs caught my attention, i was looking forward to have someday this album, in addition to the variety of rythms you can find, he goes from latin to samba, salsa, hiphop featuring great stars like eric clapton.

What you dislike about it: Nothing. It's just what i was hoping to find in this album!

Super boring

Created: 29/06/08
will anyone ever figure out that Carlos keeps spinning out the same tired licks
time and time again? this weak effort relies on the sounds of other artists such as Rob Tomas,Dave Matthews etc. to breathe new life into the dated
playing of a musician who stopped growing decades ago. Yes the "Carlos Tone"
is unique and sweet...but you would be better off to buy one of the first
three albums and leave it at that.

Supernatural - Santana (CD 1999)

1999 album "Supernatural," took home eight Grammys including one for best album and two for the single "Smooth" featuring Rob Thomas. It was the most Grammys won by a single performer in Grammy history. And well worth it. Great music!
