Surveillance (DVD, 2009)

PLOT: 2 FBI agents are working to find out the real details of the roadside death of several people from three different witnesses~ WHO ALL HAVE DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THE TRUTH~

two BAD cops have a hobby of shooting out passing car tires~ tormenting and or robbing the people in the car~ when a chain of events have several people dead~ including one of the bad cops~ JULIA ORMOND AND BILL PULLMAN are FBI who arrive with surveillance equipment to tape the interviews of all three witnesses including a 9 year old girl~ the plot is very bizarre~ the ONLY thing remotely entertaining is the interesting angles this movie was shot with~ and a SHOCKER of a violent TWIST ending~ this is ONLY worth watching once~ I would put this under HORROR rather than thriller~ since their is no one we can bond with except the 9 year old ~ who never really seems upset she witnessed her entire family shot in front of her eyes~ I only give this a 3 stars~(it should have been a 2 STARS) because of the shocking ending~ which I did not in my wildest dreams see coming~ plenty of gore~ I would have named this police voyer myself~ LOL~

I LOVED IT. BILL PULLMAN AND JULIA ORMOND ARE TWO OF THE LEAST RECOGNIZED AND MOST UNDERRATED ACTORS. IN THIS LITTLE ENTRY, BOTH PLAYED EERILY DARK AND SARDONIC CHARECTORS. THEY HAD ME THINKING THERE'S SOMETHING ODD OR 'FISHY, ABOUT THEM, BUT I WON'T PRETEND I KNEW THE OUTCOME. THE FILM IS A DARK AND SOMETIMES WHIMSICAL STORY THAT ENTERTAINS AND SURPRISES. TRY IT, ITS A SLEEPER I WOULD HAVE GONE TO THE THEATER FOR. DOUG 1252

Jennifer Lynch's Surveillance is a more down-to-earth cinematic expression after her somnambulistic maiden voyage with Boxing Helena. Her commentary track helps to unwind these unusual and pre-occupied characters.

Hi there, it's your ol' pal Nate "The B Movie King" Fairbanks and I'm just going to write a few words about "Surveillance" today:

INTELLIGENT
CREEPY
SURREAL
UNPREDICTABLE
ENGROSSING
SUSPENSEFUL

I don't want to say too much about the plot, because this is one of those films that the less you know going in, the more amazing the experience will be. one of the most interesting themes of "Surveillance" is our conditioning to automatically submit to authority figures and its explored in a way I've never seen before.

I really love the fact that "Surveillance" was co-written and directed by a woman (we need MORE female directors and writers). Her name is Jenifer Lynch and she delivers on every level. Bill Pullman pulls off another quirky role as an FBI agent with a little something extra.

This is a great movie....WATCH IT!

if you like sick and twisted. this is the movie for you. if your a lynch fan, jennifer or david this is right up your alley
