Product Information
Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage is a fighting game based on the popular manga written by Kentarou Miura Hack. This epic Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage is the US translation of the Japanese hit Berserk, a solo adventure set in medieval times. This game has a fighting game style combo system, which allows you to dole out the hurt with multiple weapons and attack moves. There's a witty elfin fairy, a tyrannical king, an insane girlfriend, and a land overrun by evil. Slash through more than 30 types of grotesque enemies, each with unique and fearsome attacks. There's two combat modes (including the devastating Berserk rage), unleash powerful combination moves, and wield four deadly weapons.

Not a Bad Game, Good For Collection

Created: 02/02/09
With 32 volumes of the manga on my shelf and two tattoos on my body, it's fair to say that I am a real Berserk fan. I made a point to get my hands on this game as quickly as I could, since I'm also a game collector and it just made sense. When I actually popped it in, I found that it plays a lot like the PS2 Berserk game: Millenium Falcon which is probably a good thing, since it works. This is a game for fans of the hack 'n slash and beat 'em up genres of games. You, as Guts, will be stringing together combos of gore with your massive sword, arm cannon, repeating crossbow, and mini bombs. If any of that sounds bizarre, then Berserk may be too over-the-top for you.

For the Berserk die-hards out there, it is important to note that this game does not follow the main story. Taking place between the third and fourth story arcs, this is a side-story penned by Miura for the sake of the game. At times it feels a little too bizarre, too anime cliché if you will, but then you aren't buying this old manga-themed Dreamcast game for top-notch storytelling, are you? If you are just looking for a good title for your Dreamcast but you've already bought every game with the SEGA developer logo on it, then Berserk should keep you entertained, but it isn't the easiest game to find anymore, so keep an eye out for a well-priced one.

Long live the Dreamcast.

A Bloody Good Time! Literaly!

Guts rage is a hack and slash that is easily on par with Devil May Cry and God of WAR in fact I think that if Dante, Kratos and Guts were too face each other Guts would come out on top. Words cannot explaine how much I enjoyed this game and how much I still enjoy it even today. You play Guts a swordsman mercnary with a huge and I mean huge sword, your trying too find a cure for your lady friend Casca who has gone mute and quite bonkers. Your search leads you into some huge and bloody and I mean bloody battles. As you fight deal out damage and recieve damage you will fill up a rage meter and once your rage meter is filled you go crazy cutting everyone and everything too pieces. You don't only have your sword, you also have a rapid fire cross bow and an arm cannon that is very powerful and while you will be using your sword most of the time these things come in handy fighting in close quarters as your sword is so big that it will bounce off of walls. Boss battles are huge and awsome especilly the fight against Zod. My only complaint is that it basicly ends with a to be continued and they have never made any more over here, curses! Anyway if you like hack and slash games then Guts Rage will have you absolutley rivited.

A Classic For The Dreamcast!

This game is great! A real Hack n Slash classic. Sword of the Berserk does not follow the story line of the Anime for all you die hard Berserk fans, instead it tells a new story for our Hero Guts. I highly recommend picking this one up if you haven't already!!

Fun and easy to play, hack and slash game.

Created: 06/09/09
I like this game because it is a hack and slash game that is easy to just pick up and play, and the story isn't bad. Since I like this type of game, to me it is worth playing more than once. The copy that I had somehow went missing, so when I saw one on ebay for a reasonable price, I decided to pick it up.

Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage (Dreamcast)

I loved berserk's moves and I knew I would love the game. The only thing I don't like about the game is the huge sword is difficult to use because it bangs off any surfers it hits. Definitely a must have for fans.
