Taken (DVD, 2003, 6-Disc Set)

I had been trying to find this series at a reasonable price for sometime. I've never seen alien abductions (outside of "the X-Files") done better. It is without a doubt Steven Spielberg's work. As far as I know he has never done anything that's not first class and "Taken" is no exception. At times I found Dakota Fanning talking like she was 40 a little irritating, but I got over it. On the whole this series is a must for all Sci-Fi fans. I am glad to have it in my collection.

I missed this series the first time around on television. Now I have it a home and let me tell you it is GOOD!! I will not bore you with the stars names or the characters for that matter. I will tell you this though, you actually get to know lives of the those involved and you build a love hate relationship right off the bat. There is a great deal of military secrecy that you can learn about here too. Now onto the alien element, it is not exagerated but it will tease you into not missing a second of the series. Great detail in the crafts and the aliens themselves are preety good. I am watching it at this moment and will again in the near future again. If you like stories about abduction or aliens and ufos you must rent,download or buy it here on E-Bay. You have my personal guarantee that you will not be dissapointed.

I accidently stumbled upon this series when they showed it recently on the Sci-Fi Channel. I didn't watch much TV back in 2003. I was immediately hooked from the first episode! Not Surprising...This DVD is the result of what you get when you combine Steven Spielberg's brilliance with our history of unaswered questions about the secrey within our government, history and the possibility of Aliens & UFO's existence in our society...This is the best series I've ever seen on TV!!! The great writing, the amazing actors, the story line and connection between all the characters...SUPERB! I only wish the series was longer!!!

I really hadn't heard much about this mini series until I got it. It look to have a lot of good actors in it and a interesting story line. I was blown away by the story, acting, and everything else!

The story is of three families. The mini series goes through three generations of each family and how they know each other. You have the Keys family who have been "taken" over and over by the aliens. The Clarke family who was visted in the 40's and the mom got pregnant from one of the aliens. Then you have Crawford family who is part of the Government that has been trying to figure out what the aliens want.

The story is a long one but they do it in such a way you hardly notice the time flying by. You just want to keep watching more and try to figure out how all these people fit together.

The set comes with 6 DVDS. The first five DVDs each have two episodes on it and the last DVD has extra features. Most of the extra features are looking into the making of this series.

My husband came in while I was on the 3rd disc and he said it was pretty straight forward and easy to catch up on. Even though he didn't see the whole series he still enjoyed it greatly.

This is just a great movie to watch but it does take some time to get through the whole series. I would recommend it to anyone.

Steven Spielberg's TAKEN was a mini series on TV. I've waited years to get to see it. I found it on Ebay at a fantastic price. I've been very happy with this catch. If your a curious reader and vewier of TV, you'll enjoy this series. This is about the abduction experience by aliens from other worlds. That's all I'll say about the series.
