The sight of author Roald Dahl sitting by a roaring fire in a comfortable armchair greeted viewers tuning in to the popular British television show TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED, which ran from 1979-1988. Dahl offered a brief introduction to each show in the first two seasons, neatly setting the scene for the adaptations of his short stories that followed.
