Movie synopsis

Jimmy Fallon gets his first starring role with TAXI, an action-packed comedy that finds the former Saturday Night Live showman teaming up with Oscar-nominated rapper-turned-actress Queen Latifah (CHICAGO). Fallon is Washburn, a truly pathetic New York City cop who can't seem to wake up in the morning without bumbling busts and breaking whatever he touches. After his most recent debacle, his boss and former flame, Lieutenant Marta Robbins (Jennifer Esposito), revoked his license. Latifah is Belle, a retired bike messenger who is about to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a bona fide cab driver. When Fallon commandeers Belle's services after hearing of a nearby bank robbery, a partnership is formed. Unfortunately, even when he means well, Washburn is nothing but trouble. Against her better judgment, Belle finds herself doing what she can to help out the pitiful Washburn, even though the bank robbers (led by supermodel Gisele Bundchen) are several steps ahead of the game. Produced by Luc Besson, who wrote the 1998 film upon which Tim Story's film is based, TAXI is an engaging romp that features likeable performances from its lead actors, as well as hilarious supporting turns from Ann-Margret and Adrian Martinez.

I would have rated Excellent for the film itself but it is more for young teens and I felt it had too much sexual content for the average child even with the pg 13 rating. The story line is funny and good. The relationships are good it was great lols...will watch again. I tend to like more movies that I don't have to say my youngest can't see it too. I enjoyed the male positive black role model for young black men! He was awesome for any male role model as he stuck in with this chicks crazy world! lol.. Also like the fact that a good looking male can find he falls in love with a real good looking woman even though she is not model thin!! Positive in that way as well! Too many phony unreal movies out there so that's where that comment is coming from. Jimmy and Queen Latifah were awesome! Highly recommended for a wild time makes your life look good!! Queen Latifah's Taxi Rocks!

Very Funny - Tricked out Taxi

Queen Latifah is street smart and is a bicycle messenger who is aggressive in beating her own time. She's been studying for her taxi driver exam and passes. The need for speed Queen Latifah tricks-out her ride and she is now ready for New York & New Jersey. Jimmy Fallon is a cop in this movie who doesn't drive and has terrible detective skills. He meets up with Queen Latifah who has the streets smarts, intelligence, common sense and the ride to assist. Great movie to add to your collection. Wish I had a tricked out car like this!

DO NOT CONFUSE THIS TAXI WITH THE ROBERT DENIRO!QUEEN LATIFFA WAS T HER BEST.THE DVD IS A FAST MOVING PLOT.THE HUMOR IS ALSO CONSTANTLY YHERE.IT HAS A CHASE SCENE TO END ALL CHASES.THE MANNERISM OF LATIFFA IS JUST SO FITTING TO THIS MOVIE.I CAUGHT JUST 5 MINUTES OF THIS MOVIE ON TV AND I ORDERED THE DVD.I WAS NOT DISSAPPOINTED AT ALL.WHEN YOU THROW IN THE LIKES OF JENNIFER ESPESTITO"SPIN CITY,"AND LATE NIGHT SHOW HOST JIMMY FALLON.THIS IS DEFINITELY THE DVD WORTH HAVING IN YOUR COLLECTION.YOU WILL CRACK UP WITH THE DRUG BUST AND IT JUST GETS FUNNIER AFTER IT.

Queen Latifah & Jimmy Fallon team up in Taxi

Created: 12/05/09
This is a great movie for someone who grew up watching Taxi in the 70's. I liked watching how she acted even though I'm not a rap fan. Queen Latifah sang songs other than rap, such as Oh, Baby! and California Dreamin'. The car chases were so much fun and the way that Queen Latifah's relationship w/her boyfriend/fiancée was showcased from beginning to end made it look so dramatic. This movie has so much meaning to me because I didn't get to watch it when it was released and then I didn't get to watch it when I had the chance at the airplane on my way to Sweden via London and then again on the way back in June 2005. I bought it because I knew what I was missing. All I knew about Queen Latifah back then was how much I liked California Dreamin'. It's fun how Latifah & Jimmy Fallon team up in a duo w/contrasts such as a a cab driver and a cop who can't drive

I was surprised at how GOOD this movie was when I watched it. It is just plain good fun! Queen Latifa is just plain funny & Jimmy Fallon is a riot as well. They teamed up in this show & worked great together with the timing & antics that were part of the show. I liked the driving sequences & the great one liners were just hilarious! This show was plain good fun entertainment & I give it a thumbs up!
