The R7CGB max line of woods are unparalled in terms of the flexibility and playability they offer for players at the upper skill levels. If someone is moving up to a higher performance wood they should check these out before making a decision on any other club first. Even if you're not a lower handicap but have an interest in improving your drive distance, draw/fade, these clubs can get you through the threshold of getting longer off the tee or the fairway! As a price point, now that these clubs have come down so much in price, they realy are a steal if it works for you and your game. There are many players that paid full price for these clubs ie: $500.00 for a driver in the past couple years and are still completely satisfied with the club! If you like Taylormade woods I think its the best driver they ever produced. But if you have to have the newest model, pay the extra couple hundred dollars, i think the difference is marginal between the stock r7CGb and the R9 (not the R9 460). I play an R9 mostly this year but after fiddling with the shaft settings neutral seems best for my swing anyway. To make it worse, Taylorade has made the task of swapping shafts on the r9 much more problematic! So whats the difference then between the r9 and the r7cgb? MOI? There are of course some numbers that show up in the lab tests, what matters are the numbers that show up on your score card.

TaylorMade r7 CGB Max Driver

I had previously hit a demo of this club at a local golf fair, liked it better than any of the others I hit that day (Callaway, Nickent, Nike), including the TaylorMade Tour Burner. TaylorMade rep talked me into trying it after watching me hit the Burner, but warned "don't hit it if you don't want to buy it, its that good". He was right. Very light & easy to swing, very good on off center hits and extremely HOT in the sweet spot with lots of roll. Easy to work both ways with the standard weighting, hard not to hit a draw if you swap the heavy rear weight with the light one in the heel. Overall, the best driver I've ever hit. Only drawback is the price, took several weeks watching the auctions to get a good deal on a very lightly used club - found one from a seller that looks brand new, he wanted a different shaft flex.

Golfing skill and a good club go together.

The r7 cgb Max Drive is a remarkably well engineered club that delivers on what it promises. No club can make a bad golfer good, but a well engineered club can make a reasonably skilled golfer better - and this club does it. It's light weight, regular flex shaft, and responsive contact with the ball is poetry in motion. The accuracy and consistency of my drive has improved considerably - more important to me than distance. Though, that has improved as well. Overall, I recommend this club to anyone who is a weekend golf who wants to improve their game.

The TaylorMade r7 cgb MAX Driver is a great driver, really packs a punch, and has helped me increase by accuracy and distance. The driver head looks a little small to me due to its shape but has helped me draw the ball which is something I was not able to do with a regular driver. I would recommend it to any one wanting to improve their fairway accuracy.

R7 CGB MAX Limited Driver 8.5*

This club is really incredible- It's extremely workable (fade, draw etc)and forgiving. The shaft is very responsive. The overall club weight seems to be a little light. Due to the light weight I have a tendency to "overswing". According to the Taylor made web sight- the R7 CGB MAX Limited is designed for a swing speed up to about 90. I found the weights actually DO make a difference and are a nice feature. The clubs' appearance is classic. I believe this is a club anyone would be proud to own
