The fall of 1991 was when the popularity of TMNT started to decline just a little bit, but was still almost everywhere you went. This DVD compilation is a mix of good and bad. You have DVD bonus features with the original voice actors who voiced the turtles (and Bebop, Rocksteady, and some other guest characters) which is worth watching if you haven't seen it already on Youtube. The design is also really cool with pizza-shaped discs and, of course, the packaging. But, as others have said, there is something missing. This set only includes the 18 Saturday Morning-aired CBS episode, missing the primetime special "Planet of the Turtleoids", containing 2 episodes in one, along with "Once Upon A Time Machine", which arguably could have been part of Season 4 since the other Easter episode was released.

As far as the episode quality goes, the writers seemed to dumb down the action the most this season, and the turtles rarely use their weapons that are a staple of the entire franchise. Many battle scenes seem cheesy and gimmicky. It was more of a sitcom, paroding the earlier seasons at that point. But it's still fun to watch with all those jokes and for the camp value. So, if you are a TMNT fan, buy this disk and look for the now vintage Turtles Awesome Easter VHS (which contains the episode above) and the Planet of the Turtleoids VHS tape from the "Out of this World" series by Family Home Entertainment if you want the true complete season.

Here we are once again Turtle fans! Another season released onto DVD. This is Season 5 from 1991 containing 18 episodes onto a 3-disc set. I was astonished by the packaging when it came into a cool looking pizza box with the discs.I remember in the past Mondo Gecko appeared on TMNT,and it was this season where he made his debut. You'll find episodes like "Michaelangelo Meets Mondo Gecko", garbage heroin "Muckman messes up", "Michaelangelo Meets Bugman again" in Bugman's second appearance and Casey Jones. However, only 18 of the 21 episodes were placed on this set out of the entire season. But secondly, the episodes are out of order. So already we have an incomplete season release. It's surprising when everything went fine on the season 4 release and then compile a season 5 set that's not complete.Overall the episodes are rad to watch and addicting. As turtle fans the fun never ends. And yes, there are bonus extras. Now go off to the video store and ask for a Pizza with every topping in the world along with the episodes on the side. After all it tastes great!!

This is a great DVD set. My son loved the pizza box packaging. The individual disks have pizza designs on them. Great value for the price.

Great dvd series that followed up season 4. All episodes where in good quality and good sound. The dvd case was my favorite part. The way they made it look like a pizza box. Even to the detail on the back made it look and feel like a real pizza box and the dvds even had pizza pictures. Overall very good season and happy with all 18 episodes.
