And while many other '70s rock monsters struggled to stay afloat in the '80s, Boston had no problem making the transition. THIRD STAGE was another big hit, powered by the Top-10 power ballad "Amanda."Boston doesn't stray from its classic sound here. THIRD STAGE standouts such as "We're Ready," "Cool the Engines," and "Hollyann" pick up right where DON'T LOOK BACK left off. Fans hoping that they wouldn't have to wait as long for their next Boston fix were let down again. It would be another eight years before 1994's WALK ON hit the racks.

Not Way Out! but Deep Within! Soothing and relaxing Hard Rock ! ... "cantcha say" [you believe in me] is a great & outstanding tune , "Amanda" A Classic!!!.."We're Ready" awesome Rocksound!!!..not many albums can be bought that every song blends as well and every song is Great on One Album ....get A copy Today!

The track My Destination is possibly the saddest three minutes of music ever recorded. Props to Tom Scholz, Brad Delp, Gary Pihl, and Jim Masdea for this treasure. Brad, we love you and we will miss you, until we meet again.

8 Years. It took Boston 8 years to put out their third studio album, a follow up to their wildly successful self-titled debut album Boston, released in 1976, and their sophomore effort Don't Look Back released 2 years later in '78.
But now the year was 1986 and Boston had spent the last 6 of those 8 years off in preparation for this release. Third Stage, the last Boston album to feature Brad Delp as lead singer, is unquestionably the band's strongest, most concise, and far to often overlooked masterpiece.
A decade after they hit the scene with Boston, this band, who lost half of their original members by this point, had evolved and matured to a point where, despite taking 6 years to produce, they released an album that was so polished, so perfect in every note that it can truly be considered a timeless classic.
Where Boston was a hard(er) rocking, guitar-driven, power-happy monument to the talents of this group, and where Don't Look Back showed that the band could experiment yet still deliver that classic Boston sound, Third Stage takes a combination of both, but adds far more dramatically styled music behind beautifully orchestrated lyrics to deliver an album that easily appealed to the masses of existing Boston fans while certainly offering something new to those first-time listeners who were unfamiliar with their work (if there were any at the time).

Its a very good cd. Typical Boston songs. some new hooks and of course the incredible Brad Delp on vocals. other than Amanda I don't remember any other songs on the radio back in the day. There are at least 3 or 4 others that could have been singles!

I like the band. This was the only CD of them that I didn't own.Was in excellent condition. "Amanda" is a great song.
